So my right horn button jumped off the wheel today and hit me in the face  (great morning). It tried like hell to get it stuck back on but its not holding. I don't see any broken ends and it appears to just click in. I did the search and I only saw issues with the spring popping out. Is something broken I don't see?

I'm sorry, but this thread really makes me laugh. I'm picturing you trying to wedge the button back in while the horn keeps blowing from you wedging the button back in, and so on...

Your neighbors must hate you.

Sorry I can't help with your problem though.

Oh it's better. I'm in the parking lot of my company (in quite a nice car) looking like an idiot beeping my horn at 6:30 in the moring. I swear it almost took my eye out.

Be careful or you'll shoot your eye out with those horn buttons. Mine did the same thing a few years ago and I ended up buying a new from the dealer. I think they cost about $60.

Is something broken though? I'll replace it if its broken but I get the feeling it just not snapped back in correctly. I'll have to take a closer look, maybe a clip busted that I didn't see the first time.

The last two months have not been enjoyable for the NSX and I. Between the door lock actuator, the dealer that messed up my door installing it, the CCU biting it and now this dumb horn, my patience is fleeting...

Great. Now I'm going to drive around all squinty.

LOL, wincing a bit all the time. LMAO thinking about this.

Honey look at that weird look on the guy in the NSX, oh he is just waiting for the horn button to pop him in the face. oh, ok.

LOL

All the more reason to wear sunglasses, even at night!:cool:

Hot glue gun?

I had the same problem a while back. The horn buttons have 4 tiny plastic tabs on the inside that engage at the end of the spring travel to prevent the comical episode you described. One of mine lost the <1mm snap part of the tab on 1/4 and functioned like you describe--- button will go back into place, but bang it a few more times and .... pop right in your eye again ;)

Just buy a new button/spring/switch assembly. You'll love the price though...

$41

But it's superlight titanium alloy spring inside saves .02 grams lol

Thanks. I've got the new horn assembly on the way thanks to Tim Poliniak. I think it was $35 shipped which is worth not taking on in the eye...

Sorry I'm too late on this post. I've repaired both of my buttons where the tabs have broken. They both function fine now . I fabricated new tabs out of the ends of CD covers [protectors]. Cost $0. No problems in 8mos.

My buttons were replaced a couple of years ago. Last week, it flew out. It was a broken tab on the bottom of the button. My wife thought it was a roach flying.

Actually, since you live in Florida that would be a Palmetto bug. :D

Horn has been repaired. The interesting thing is that the button actually was not broken as I suspected. The housing around the button actually warped just a bit over time. Because of the the clips weren't quite holding. I'm going to send a PM to the gentleman above. If his housing isn't warped my button will work. Saves $30.

Thanks all.
