Hi everyone, wanted to please ask if you have an idea of how much BHP can the NSX factory auto-transmission can handle please? I am thinking of doing some upgrades including forced induction but do not wish to change the auto-gearbox for now. TIA

Over many years of reading posts about this, I think the consensus is that since Honda took steps to reduce the power on A/T equipped cars it's best to not push your luck by adding more.

Now the manual transmissions, they can take a whole lot more power and survive!

The torque converter is actually pretty strong. It's the clutch packs that shatter. I'd keep it under 225 ft/lb.

You should give Pat at Level 10 a call. They can tell you what the auto can handle.

Also, my AT for sale ad contains a good summary of the AT design and its weaknesses.

Hi

My AT generated a blinking on the D position in the speedo when I went full throttle in 3rd and 4th gear.

After the blinking occured I had to manually upshift.

The conclusion is, 400HP with a Bi-Turbo setup are too much to handle. :)

I currently have the same problem - but have EPS light on and D flashing. Checked EPS Fuse but looks ok. I am starting to look forward to change to manual :) Any idea what may be the issue? I read somewhere it might be a speed sensor
