How to find out brand/compound when selling used brake pads?

I don't know how. Posted brake feel in comparison to well known pad. That's all I could do anyway. Any suggestion on how not to violate the rules? Thanks.
 
Part of the probem with your ad is that you posted the unkown pads resting on a Hawk box. Although you were up front in the ad about not knowing the brand/compound, a newbie might see the box and presume they were actual hawks.

If you cannot identify the brand or compound, you can re-list with pics of the pads without any packaging in the pic and, once again, indicate the year of your car from which it was removed (and it would help if you identify if you had stock calipers, etc when removed) and state simply brand/compound unknown.
 
p.s. and just as an FYI, I edited your OEM wheels ad slightly just to add the word "chromed". One of our marketplace goals is to provide as much accuracy as possible to our newest members and since the OEM wheels did not come chromed it seemed appropriate to point that out. Not a rules violation but in keeping with the spirit of the site that description was added.
