How to remove "side lining" (passenger side)?

I'm trying to pop off the plastic trim that forms an inverted channel along the passenger door sill, covering the edge of the carpet. I've popped the little hand bolster for egress off and removed the screw at the back, but I don't see how to disengage the front, up under the dash in the passenger footwell?

There is a push clip behind the carpeted piece that holds it into the body. It's a pain to remove. I always break it.

@Honcho LOL thanks for the guidance and encouragement ha! I guess I'll just pull until something pops or breaks (or both). It seemed like the little carpeted piece was willing to come free, leaving the rest of it behind?
