How's about this for a future monthly meet?

Since we are all into cars, we should hold a monthly meet at one of the Bay Area Kart racing places. There is one in Fremont called Lemans Karting ( http://www.lemanskarting.com/about/news.html ), one in Santa Clara called Speedring ( http://www.speedring-kartracing.com/ ) and another one in the Peninsula if I remember right but I don't remember the name. We can either all meet at one of those facilities and have some fun driving first and then figure out what restaurant is nearby to sit down and enjoy our lunch. I figured it would be better to drive first and then eat later so we will all be a couple of pounds lighter so we can be faster.

I am sure the facility will give us a group discount so hopefully this will be something that would be considered. I am also open for the 1st Sunday of each month instead of Saturday's but will go with whichever day the majority is able to attend for a larger turnout.

What do you think?

I can vouch for Speed Ring in Santa Clara. A bunch of us guys from work went there and had a blast. Of course it's not Infineon Raceway Karting or any of the more fancy outdoor tracks, but for just some really cheap thrills you can't beat it.

I'm definitely in if we can make it a group.

Perhaps I am mistaken, but I recall that SpeedRing in Santa Clara (near Bowers Ave) is supposed to be going out of business. However, any of the other venues would be fun. Thanks for the suggestion Litespeeds.

Sid, I'm in. Just let me know when.

I might join you guys if my schedule permits. The one in the peninsula is in Burlingame by Adrian Blvd. It's new.

I was thinking the same thing after the Hooter's meet-up!!! Count me in for that!!!

We just have to convince RandomHarmony to put this in his future agenda for monthly meets.

If you guys want to goto GO Kart Racer, they have 2 samll tracks to choose from and on Mondays only, they combine it for one big track. I also get coupons here and then. the coupons are in gif format and I've never attached pics before but I'll try:

Maybe we can convince them to put both small tracks into one big one for our NSX meeting day. Do you think you can ask the manager to see what special group rate they can offer our club and if it would better for a Saturday or a Sunday? I am sure we will all be grateful for your help.

From what I remember from past events, the only way they will accomodate something like that is if we rent whole place out for the entire day.

The half track isn't bad. I've actually never done the big track. From the number of people responding, I think it'll be better for the group to go there together and use the coupon.

I think it's about 10-12 cars per track session. I get tired after just one.. so out of shape!
