Well folks since I did'nt see a thread I figured I'd post this for all our Louisiana/Texas members which includes myself. As you may/may not know, Gustav is currently a cat. 4 storm and may possibly bump to a cat 5 by tomorrow. I've been in meetings all day with our Em. management and Fema trying to determine how we're going to cope with this storm should it head our direction. It's going to SE Texas:frown: or New Orleans:frown:, but we won't know which until late tomorrow. In any case it will likely be catastrophic. Anyway, my family's evacuated and thats all that matters to me at the moment. All I ask is for a little prayer for my LA. and TX. friends and wish them all the best. Unfortunately I'm stuck here since my job requires it. Hopefully I'll have a house to go back to with the NSX still in the garage in one piece:frown:.

For a cat 4-5 you will need lots of prayers, but also good preperation.I hope you have your house boarded up and valuables above expected flood level. After the devestation of katrina at least the country is painfuly aware of what can happen.I pray it hits the least populous area.

Thanks for your post and the update. Please understand our prayers are with you and your family. Thank goodness your family had the opportunity to evacuate and they are safe. The same goes for you. Keep safe and please be prepared. Keep us update and let us know how we can help.

good luck with everything, its going to be a doosey!

are the people in se texas evacuating already as well? i saw earlier the mass exodus of new orleans

Yes it's a mandatory evac for my part of SE TX. since we are on the coastline. As of now it looks like New Orleans may get pounded once again.:frown:

I'm in a threatened area but nothing is certain right now. The NSX has already been evacuated to the GF's house, though. I'll have that if nothing else.
Good luck, Davidf. I was wondering how you might be faring before you even started the thread.
Good luck everyone.

Well guys it look like we've dodged the big bullet. Unfortunately NO has not. Not looking to good right now. But they've been passing through here the last 24 hours, so hopefully everyone will get out.

The are canceling RNC events in my fine city because of this. I'm not sure I get the connection?

i just drove form pascagoula, MS to houston yesterday. highway 10 was a nightmare and that was yesterday! So lots of people with gastanks strapped to the roof.

Hoping for the best for those in NO and TX. Hopefully, Gustav loses some of it's power before it hits land.

Elected officials don't want to party when there's such a potentially devastating event affecting their (potentially) constituents.

is this gonna be close to austin tx?

it shouldnt stop them though, because last i heard bush doesnt care about black people:tongue:

jk

so its a cat3 now, hopefulley cat2 by land fall, and ofcourse the news theory "omg this is a big one, it has a super dooper chance of raging up to a cat25 before it hits land, omg you need to watch our show or else your gonna die because its going to be atleast a cat50"

Winston Churchill once noted that there is nothing more exhilarating than being shot at and missed. *whew*

It’s probably just as well that I evacuated the car. Yesterday in the garage I noticed a coolant leak that I need to square away. Better to drive it on a mini-shakedown than have a hose blow during the October NSX craze.

Glad to hear that the Storm made a last minute shift to the west and spared N.O of the hurricane force winds. Hope everyone is doing okay.

I'd rather deal with Earthquakes....
