This happened tonight just past 6:30PM. As captured by my GoPro dashcam. I missed severe injury or death by less than a second! I was in the Crosstour btw.
It would be a good idea for the NSX or any other automotive toys but for the daily driver there would be a lot of upkeep involved (clearing memory, charging etc)
I'm getting a dashcam installed in the lotus next week, and will be getting another one for the NSX.
I decided it was a must have after I read a story on another forum about a guy pulling out of a parking lot, when he was rear ended by the guy behind him.
As I recall, he got out, discussed/exchanged information with the other driver, and I believe he was waiting on a police car to arrive so he could get a police report for insruance purposes, etc. While they were waiting, the guy driving the car behind the rear-ender popped out, pulled the rear-ender aside, and told him (thinking he was out of earshot of the victim), that for $100 he would tell the police that the victim backed/reversed into the guy, and it was all his fault.
People are fucked up. It's a sad reality when people need dashcams.![]()
The dash cam is a Hero3 Black edition. It is set to simply record in looping mode and is plugged into a 12v source so it constantly has power and with a 64GB card, it records a few hours at 1080p/40fps then simply continues recording when the memory is full by overwriting the earliest recording.
