Yes, there is wide opening for cash on top not shown in this angle. The wallet will work better if you stuff some cash in it as the card slots are a bit loose, noticed how I pushed all card towards middle to prevent cards from sliding out while wallet is in my packet.
 
Received this surprised gift from American Honda Motor Co yesterday.

My business partner received his as well. Both match our nsx specification and color. 130R and Casino White. I believe every NSX owner receive one.

There is a be nice to owners program, and the model is supposed to ship a month into ownership.

It seems like you are really enjoying the car, which is not surprising as I believe NSX brand has always slow to get it into people head how great the car really is. But I am somewhat surprise at how you two enjoy it so much that prefer the NSX over the 570S at times?....

You might just have converted me to get one in the future, and save money for one now.

I know you mentioned you do not know how to describe the experience but can you describe it? LOL

I been driving 570S everyday for past 4 days because my 4 year old daughter bug me in the morning to take her to school in it. Took her to fashion Island to eat pink berry and pick up my prescription glasses after school today. It is great being a father and able to go out with my girl. You should come out to monthly NSX meet next time, my business partner will be there as well, you can get his insight. For gen 2 NSX it really takes a few days to really understand the car. You will never like the car if you just test drive it a few times. Because it really is new sports car experience that most of us were not used to.

What I like about the 2 cars are somewhat similar, great daily drivers with lots of power and not crazy loud. NSX is very quiet, 570S is loud outside. To be honest I love both cars. Despite the weight difference, the NSX feels as light as 570S. Not sure how it is possible, it just is. Even the brakes are super quiet compare to 570S.

The thing about these 2 cars besides amazing handling and comfort is I can pull away from other cars before they can react and it look natural. Best way I can explain is it is not unpleasant to others. At least I hope so. On my LP550-2 it is very offensive even with stock exhaust, Huracan is the same. My business partner loves the NSX the most among all his cars. Civic Type R is his 2nd favorite, Huracan is dead last (will be replaced with 720S as soon as his built is delivered).

Everytime I see any McLaren or Porsche Turbo, they get away fast and I am not offended. If it were Mustang, Corvette, M4, Charger, Camaro, or other cars. They just make so much offense noise and go nowhere.

@nsxsupra, I think I understand what you mean regarding "not being a jerk" while driving somewhat aggressively. I will give an extreme example to illustrate. I have a BMW i3 and also a C7 Z06. The i3 is completely silent and, under WOT, it gets off the line SUPER briskly, leaving basically all other cars in the dust 0-40 MPH. The Z06 can, in theory, get to 60 in half the time (about 3.0 seconds). If both cars lined up and the Z06 just tried to keep up with i3 (and not even smoke it), the Z06 would create so much noise and drama (inside and outside of car), that everyone would think "Look at the a-hole in the loud sportscar car showing off." Also, if you plant the throttle on the Z06 at less than highway speeds, you always risk the back end stepping out.

As a result, I often end up having more fun driving the slower car, because I can drive it faster without being a jerk. The NSX is not as quiet as the i3 (and is MUCH MUCH faster, obviously), but it still has a significant element of "you can drive very aggressively without drama" which makes the performance of the NSX ultimately more accessible in everyday life.

Chrisn and nsxsupra, I can see how that translate to fun. I have always wanting to go back to stock exhaust for this very reason, but sometimes you want the noise. That's why we have more than (1) car.

On the same note, would you not agree that the Tesla and GTR can just be as fast or faster without much drama? nsxsupra, I remember you had a GTR, and I drove my friends GTR and it can hit 130 in no time.

I think the idea is that the NC1 NSX is fun because the driver is in control of all (if not most) the power the car have easily, at the same time, enjoy it on the public roads.

That is why people love the miata because they can fully utilize the power without causing much fuzz to others. And you can do the same with the NSX but more power.
 
GT-R with stock exhaust (I had a 2009-- maybe diff now) is a bit like that, but still noisy car (inside) and not nearly as smooth and drama-free as NSX to accomplish same level of performance. Tesla for sure less drama, but less fun in the twisties (I've only driven an older P85, maybe the "D" has magical grip).
 
The new car is extremely easy to drive very fast I thought. The sound though reminded me of my mdx. Which for some that's a very great thing. While for others, maybe not so much. If they made a non electric rwd version of this car, I'd be selling everything I had to get it. Maybe someday they will but I doubt it. I think I'll own one later in life but definitely keeping the gen 1. It is killing me though to see Honda not doing anything at all for 2018. That is the hardest thing to swallow in my opinion. It needs updating every year to stay at least somewhat comparable or exciting. .02 cents.
 
With the windows open, I get some great blow off valve sounds.

My point on the non offensive nature of the car is, when I hit the gas when the light turns from red to green, the car just takes off without any wheel spin or screeching. It just continues accelerating smoothly until I lift off.

Using my Q50S Hybrid as an example, when I do the same thing, I walk away from most cars and in my NSX I dash away.

It is more like Tesla than GTR in terms of initial take off. I have been in Tesla P90D with ludicrous mode launch many times. It is natural and unoffensive, NSX felt just as quick.

I had 2 GTRs 2009 and 2013. I have not dare to take NSX to 130mph yet. But done 170mph on way to car meet at 6am in a very short stretch in 570S without even breaking a sweat. NSX's only weakness is rolling acceleration, at best it is GTR like. 0 to 150mph NC1 is 17seconds vs NA2 3.2L 34seconds, vs 570s 13.9 seconds. The gap gets wider the higher the speed.

End of the day it is a turbo car, adding additional 100hp+ is got to be relatively easy. I am hoping with ECU tune and high flow cats the NC1 will become perfect. Not sure if there will be potential software upgrade to allow electric motor to pump out more juice while draining battery quicker to give it even more of instant punch off the line. If it can be done, NSX will give P100D a run for its money.

I do have to admit I got the NSX after I got the 570S so NSX to me is newer. As human we tend to like the latest car we get, I can not say how much of that is a factor.

Yes I agree with what you are saying on the Huracan being the last in terms of comfort. Wife does not like it after a few hours road trip complaining her back hurts. Our 4 / 6 year old don't seem to mind as they are a bit more tolerant :) If you put the Huracan in Strada (comfort mode) and in AUTO the car is actually pretty quiet and drives like a Camry as long as you stay under 4000 rpm. No violent downshifts or loud noises but you are right, the V10 is a noisy car compared to the new NSX.

My wife prefers the new NSX 10:1 and now we are considering one as well for her.

The new NSX is a "jack of all trades" type of car in that in can do almost anything well at up to 90% level. No car is 100% perfect. McLaren/Lambo was never meant to be a soft sedate car, it's meant to turn heads and be a bit offensive. I think Ferrari is the best comparison to the new NSX?


Love the model car - that is a nice touch by Acura that even the bespoke exotic car companies do not offer at this moment! Acura did not do very well on the launch of this car but it's good to see they are doing "some" things right along the way.

I still think when/if the NSX Type-R is released, it will really drum up sales of this car and make people take notice, question is how long are they going to make us wait!
 
Meet some people at the meet yesterday and went to photoshoot with R8, AMG GTS, M4, 911 manual.

They have professional cameras, should receive pics from them soon. Much better than my phone pic
