Well the car is now tuned for 6 psi. I am going to install the high boost springs this week and tune that level also. The AEM is very complicated and should not be attempted by an amateur as myself. I will take a video of the car doing a short 0-100 MPH run. I am going to fill the NOS tonight and do a run with that as well.

Yesssssssss!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I finally got the "Rod Roddy" call from Gerry - "COME ON DOWN!!!!!!!!!!" "Your the next contestant on "THe Boost is Right"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I roll up to Modesto on Wednesday, Septempber 3rd 2003!!!!!!!

Yayyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!!

Congrats Rob, nice to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Tell me what its like cuz I am not there yet. What problems did you encounter with the AEM along the way. Dan

With the AEM itself there weren't any problems that can be directly linked to the AEM unit, although my speedo is fluctuating. The shop that installed my wide band sensor left off the boot for the main wiring harness where it enters the firewall and we were getting alot of feedback. They charged me to troubleshoot the problem and still did not find it. I finally brought the car home and found the problem myself. The main thing that I learned from SJS was to jump the silver fuel pressure switch ( not sure what it is called, but it is the silver box with fins on it on the right side of the firewall in the engine compartment) we were getting spikes in fuel pressure all the time and that solved the problem. Other than that the tuning was not too bad. If you want I can share my map. I have to download it today from the ecu and send it to a few other people also.

Well, the problems you and others had steered me away from the aem. I chose to go Tec3 about a month ago and have all the components. The other thing was that AEM was doing a software upgrade and would not send me one for 2 months with out telling me why, so I gave up on them. Just my luck that I hear more good stories after I shell out the Tec3 $$$. I could have used that money for NSXPO. Do you have the new program? Also, what size spring shims do you use per lb boost. I assume we are talking about the Aerodynes. Dan

Dan,
I have the air actuated turbos, so I made a T fitting and put a nitrous pill in on one end to bleed off some air to raise the boost. I am only going to run about 8 psi, because I am going to sell the kit and buy Gerry's kit this winter. The aerodynes won't give me the boost level that I want, that is why I have the NOS also. I am going to start at a 100 shot and work my way up from there. I am off to the dyno this afternoon. It is supposed to be a beautiful day, so it will be good for it. I used a 52 pill on the Nitrous jet. I do have some shims and heaver springs that Gerry mailed me that I can't use. If Gerry doesn't want them back I will give them to you. Let me know. The high boost springs will put you somewhere around 11 or 12 psi without any shims.

Hello there!

I am going to PM you later, but just wondering if you wanted to meet up, I'm about 25 mins away from Modesto. Is there any way we can hook up and talk about your car (and my prospective)?

Would love to hear back from you!

Sure we could meet up, I guess my post is slightly ambiguous, but I am going to drop my car off to GET a PANSX turbo. The one on it now is nuthin you wanna look at unless your a 10 year old kid.

Hello Ravi, If you were talking about seeing my car that would be fine. Anyone in the Modesto area or anywhere can call me and set up a time and go for a ride, or even drive the car.
Gerry.

Hey Gerry, are you coming to NSXPO?

Have not heard from you for a while ........ that would be a great forum to show and tell with all the other forced induction cars on display........... ;)

Steve, do it!!! It would be a hoot. I my self am trying to scrape together the money to get in. the Tec3 is killing me money wise and this event is sooooo expensive. Dan
