I need a dual sport motorcycle

Any of you bike guys able to help me out? I'd like a dual sport that I can ride a little on the highway and then whip it around pretty good off road. Something I could jump a little bit. I've got a lot of time on a KLR 650 but that is too big and heavy for what I want. I'd ride it for maybe an hour or so on-road to get off-road. Maybe somewhere in the 400 cc range.

Budget is about $2500... not sure if it is possible. Realiability is a must.

Incidentaly, the idea is to sell me Honda Hawk to get it...
