I saw our NSX's Uncle the other day, still looks good

Sunday morning I took my car to chuch and whilst pulling into the parking lot saw a red beauty that at first looked similar to my NSX. Turns out it was a Ferrari 328. It was in very good condition for a 1980s Italian car and I can, at least in my mind, see the relationship between our 2 cars. It is a little more dated than the NSX, but still looks gorgeous.

I agree on both counts (still looks good, and looks dated compared to NSX). Something about the NSX is clearly 80s (pop-up head lamps, contours of the hood/fenders), and it is that 80s-ness that I think reminds us of the 328/308 (especially that front end). But the "pointiness" and deliberate "ventilation" on various parts of the Ferrari I think are what keep it bound to that era, while the NSX is more smooth with minimal design motifs cluttering it's visage.

the 328 was the culmination/evolution of 70's technology:wink:...the nsx was a forward thinking design beginning with.. the tabula rasa:cool: The 328 was a dream car for those of us now around 50..plus we all wanted the "magnum" lifestyle.

True about all of the above. One look on the inside (and the wipers) the car looks so much more dated, and the 15" rims look very old. But overall it has aged very well.

I always thought the Ferrari 408 was the NSX's uncle...

A concept car I must have missed, but since a 408 would be a brother to the 328, I think they both would be uncles. Ms. Pininfarina (Enzo's daughter) had a thing for Asian men (Mr. H.)

I think that the Black Ferraris from that era look sooooooooo much better than the red ones. Then again, maybe I'm biased towards Black cars

Ok.. so if this is the NSX's "uncle". What is the cars dad, grandfather, sister, and ect lol? I only know of a little brother for an NSX (integra).

subscribed.......for above.....

Interestingly, I have seen a damaged 308 with the entire section of the car torn off. and the chassis is a joke. They use something like a 1 inch square steel bars through out the chassis and the only solid panel is the area behind and under the cockpit. The engine bay was literally hold together by spaghetti. No wonder people were saying if you jack the open top model on a lift, the door is stuck because of the chassis flex.

Ferrari has come a long way, thanks to the NSX.

And vice versa.
