I am bored with my Camry, so I started car shopping and got enthusiastic about the new SUPRA.

Then a friend sent me this (subtitles, but the guy doesn't mince words).

https://www.autoevolution.com/news/...-new-toyota-supra-it-really-sucks-143025.html

I was waiting for him to say something about the NSX, but he didn't.

Now I am looking at a LEXUS LC500
Not to discount the LC500, it's a great car. Quite underated. One of those... "I wish I would have bought one while you could still buy them new" kind of cars i'm sure. However, I usually take these kind of reviews with a grain of salt. Hard core Japanese enthusiast tend to have a hard time accepting anything that doesn't have Japanese origin like the NC1 or now the Supra. I know it's a bad stereotypical thing for me to say, but that's been a strong impression i've noticed throughout the years.

Max Orido loves the GR Supra and I'd say he has enough Super GT and touge street cred. :)

I took it for a test drive and it didn't impress me enough get enthusiastic.

I guess the NSX has really spoiled me.

I would have made a deal, but the sales manager wanted to show off what a hard ass he was and didn't want to negotiate over $2k which I would have split the difference over.

I walked and sure enough, a week later they called back and will do what I want, plus they dropped the sales price.

I told them they should have done the deal when they had the chance.

I can't wait until the Tesla sales model proliferates throughout the industry like a plague.

For example, I was between a Rivian and the Lightning. When I was told by my local dealer they wanted a $15k markup I told them to stuff it. Solidified my Rivian reservation even more. Ford's CEO is making in-roads towards a more transparent sales model.

Direct to consumer is the pachyderm in the room...but the legacy model in America has a very strong lobby...and lots of influence with law makers...

lol

@Heavymetals - how do you like the LC500? Always loved it.
Thanks for asking.

I am really getting used to the car, it reminds me of my CTS-V (first gen) except it is much nicer!

The infotainment operation is a real mismatch for such a well thought out interior.

There is NOTHING available to "hot rod" the thing except for about 5 exhaust systems.

The transmission shifts almost as well as the NSX.

That's wonderful to hear @Heavymetals. Congrats! It has one of the most beautiful interiors I have seen. It also sounds like a Maserati Granturismo in a way.

I may consider getting one someday!

I have heard they refer to the LC500 as an Aston Martin that runs.........
