Considering buying around a 2008 BMW X3 as a daily driver as a low mileage model costs about the same as a new CRV. Joined the Bimmerfest forum and read an 1800 post thread on their trannys. My takeaway was that there are unsolvable software issues with the tranny that cause herky jerky motions and even just flat can't find a gear at all in some situations that could be even dangerous. In my two test drives i did feel a little herky type stuff, but it's not an all the time thing. In fact it has a learning mode and they work well thru the learning period and then "learn" to be stupid. It is a really nice verhicle other than that. Anyone else been down this road? TIA
