Just wondering how many owners detail the inside of the trunk lid and the door sills? It's amazing how painted surfaces stay so clean and spotless when not exposed to the elements like the sun and acid rain and such.

At least I've never touched this area on any car I've ever owned, although I'm sure some owners who possibly show their cars at Concours events do.

Not sure if this belongs in the "Detailing" section, my apologies if so, but it seems like a fairly general topic.

Given I had more time, I will. Since I owned a gold (cashmere) color car for long time, now that I have my red one and my wife had a blue TL, Both of these cars show all the dirt and water spot accumulated on it. If I don't have time to dry it, I at least have my wet sponge going thru it...

Short answer to the question is Yes (and I am sure I am not the first or only one). You name a part of the car and I bet it has been detailed by someone here.

I always open the doors, trunk, hood, gas door, raise lights, etc to dry after a wash. It takes me longer to dry the car than it does to wash it.
I try to make a habit of doing one extra area everytime I wash the car such as dressing the wheel wells or QDing the underside of the trunk and hood.

I don't really "wash" those areas, per se but I do wipe them down when drying the car with a spare Chamois that I use only in those areas of the car.
