OK, so my daughter's iPad was stolen last night in a pub and she is very upset about her identity more than the loss of the device. I don't know if it was password protected but anyway, what should she do first? Can she wipe out anything remotely if this thing is sold to a hacker? There is a lot of knowledge here on prime so I thought I might check here first. Thanks for any help.

Regards

As stated in the linked thread, if she registered it with Find My iPhone, she can lock it or wipe it remotely; if not, I don't think that anything can be done.

There have also been numerous examples where the stolen unit and thieves were found using "Find My iPhone/iPad".

How do I prevent e-mails from a G-mail account from going through to this stolen device (first generation iPad)?

Change the password of the Gmail account and all other accounts that were ever accessed through the iPad.

Change the password on the account so when it goes to authenticate it bounces... But the ipad will still have all of the old emails on it...

If it has these old e-mails on it, then what if there is an attachment which she never opened, will the crook have access to the attachment? Is the attachment sitting on a server somewhere and not on the device? Thanks for any help.

Typically the attachments are not downloaded until you click on it, so you should be safe.

Did the iPad have a password protection on it? I have password protection on all my gadgets.
