What is the name or type of connector that goes into the base of the ipod and has a round end on the opposite side? It is flat on the ipod side and has 8 pins on the other, I think. Need to replace it for my USA Spec.

That would be a ipod to din cable but it may have a special pin out. I think CB-PA85 is the usa spec replacement cable for the PA10, PA11 and PA12.
