Ironchef America

Nothing against your friend but the show is lacking here in america. It definitely doesn't get anywhere near as good as the original. I remember an OLD episode where the contestants would leave the castle by horse drawn carriage, then have to find the ingredients they needed in town. Then have to be back in a certain amount of time to cook. The American version is so blah, while the original and current japanese version is so much more.... unique in ingredients and dishes.

It surprises me that the show is doing as well has it has here in America. I figured it would flop the way I expect Top Gear america to flop.

Hey everyone. If you like the show check it out on Sun Aug 17th at I think 9pm est. The chef who I work for "Jose Garces" is going up against Bobby Flay.

Cool. Are you in the show to help cook? Where do the film it?

Yeah, the original was classic. I still watch some of it on Youtube, but the American one is good too.

I'm not on the show. I'm a server but I really respect and love working for Jose.

Sorry to get off topic, but is it just me or does Morimoto look like the Asian Randy Jackson. Or is it the other way around?

Well, to be sure, that episode was a special. Most of the ICJ episodes were fairly standard in format. ICA did a series of episodes where they got a new Iron Chef, and that had a castle in it .

I like both ICJ and ICA, but they are of a different style. I'll have to make sure to check out the episode with the OP's boss in it.

I hate that they dub Morimoto. I mean his english isn't great but it's not THAT bad....

True -- I always figured that was a nod to the ICJ show, where everyone was dubbed.

But the times where Morimoto speaks with his own voice, he sounds just fine.
