Is this normal tranny noise?

I've noticed that when I'm rolling at low speeds (1 to 10 MPH for example) and push the clutch in I sometimes hear a clunking sound; kind of like backlash from some play in the drivetrain.

thx...

Whats your miles?
I have back lash and slash and guns and roses in my 91 that has 142,000 km or 88,000 miles. It gets worse as it warms up here in summer.
I'm thinking about some sawdust in with the GM modified oil solution!!!
We talked about this lash before somewheres here and it was explained to me that its just happens and thats life.
I don't have the clunking noise however. Maybe its Slash's tall black hat hitting the underside of your engine cover.

About 1,800 miles. Maybe it's what you've describe that I'm hearing... It mostly happens with I'm just on/off throttle and/or when pushing in clutch at the same time in 1st/2nd gear.

My car with 4000 miles has some minor gear lash and gear noise if you jiggle the throttle and you are at low speed. I think it's normal unless it gets worse.

It only happens at low RPM's just above the point where the engine would start to lug. This is sounding more like a normal thing - I hope. :D

I guess I didn't originally characterize the noise and conditions clearly.

thx guys...
