Just got my NSX!

wow nice clean car, sigh.. i remember when i had the stockies, everyone would get on my @$$ to get some rims, so I did.. haha

wow i assume u own menuserve, what a great idea.. im also interested in this type of work.. what a great way to advertise and help people
but is this something on the side, or you do online business only?

not too sure if by stereo you mean just speakers or even maybe a headunit change, but just in case, check out: http://www.nsxprime.com/forums/showthread.php?t=55926

sorry, just had to see if you might be interested. thanks in advance~!!!

btw, the car looks great... you said the nsx is one going to be one of your "projects" for your designs? care to ellaborate

Congrats! I got my 1991 with 65k miles ( :( ) a week and a half ago! I LOVE IT.

Totally stock too...but I'm modding it...slowly. (Already put a sweet alarm on it, fixed the trunk shocks, new bulbs, shift knob and cup holder lol)

I still haven't had to re-fill the tank yet! If I get 300 miles on a tank with mostly city driving, I'll be happy.

BTW- About the stereo...I'm working on mine as well..especially since the drivers side speaker is blown. I bought a new center consul piece from Dali Racing (the carbon glass for $150). I'll be able to put an aftermarket deck into this which will be a huge improvement.

DrVolkl - i have not seen the dali console... just the SOS one... if this is carbon fiber then will you be redoing everything else to match in carbon fiber?

I'm not really sure where to start? I'm definitely replacing the doors with a mid and tweeter.... i'll add an amp... but i have to decide what to do about bass before i make that decision as it affects my purchase of a 2 vs 4 channel amp and such.

i'm wondering if I should add these speakers and amp before I change the head unit as well since I can't do both at the same time....

haha congratulations, watch out or the mod bug will bite.....
if you want to upgrade to chrome bling'd versions of your oem rims, i can hook you up teehhheeeheee

It's "carbon glass"...so it's not real carbon fiber to my knowledge. It's pretty dark, but has a carbon look to it. I may continue the theme here and there throughout the vehicle, but I have no plans on replacing everything with carbon. It's dark enough that it should blend it nicely...if not, I'll just paint it gunmetal or something. I'll take pics when I install it. (won't be for a while, since I need to by a stereo system first).

Here's my 1991 NSX.. just acquired last Tuesday... 48k miles...

Now its time to figure out what to do about replacing the stock radio!

That's an easy one.........Call Chris @ SOS and order the NSX-R radio delete plate.......Then order a GM V3 exhaust, SOS headers, AIS, and GM intake.....remove the engine cover and discard in neighbor’s yard................and behold, ALL THE MUSIC YOU WILL EVER NEED!

Do not put one of those nasty subs in the floorboard  Just put in the the best set of seperates you can fit and be happy.

You will NEVER make good bass without a subwoofer. Components also play best when they are high passed above the bass frequencies and not forced to play all the octaves, that's when you can really listen to your hard earned money shine.

If you are just going to run components in the doors, you might even consider a cheap set of components because of the torture they are going to go through playing bass. A lot of the cheaper components do this better because they were designed with the budget factor in mind (ie. no sub).

I truly don't think that this is a good suggestion, especially if you're used to good sound quality. NO stereo system is complete without low end frequencies - at least if you're an audiophile like me. I'm pretty sure menuserve said that he is used to having good bass, which even low digging (very expensive) 6.5" components can't produce with any type of volume below the 60Hz range. Plus you wouldn't want them too try to pound out those low frequencies; like Malibu said, good systems have crossovers that filter out certain frequencies that are beyond a particular speaker's optimal range. Why else would tweeters be separated from mid-midbase speakers... different speakers for different frequencies.

Get a sub, have good sound quality, be happy

i'm definitely putting a sub in.... don't worry about that! i'd love to drop in one of the zetoobox's or whatever they are called but i just can't handle the price right now!

i'll have to go with the head unit, amp and separates for now... have it prewired for the sub and add it in when i figure out what I can afford!

Looks great...the color I want too (or white..or...red...or..any color..NSX's look good in any color :D)...I'm gonna start looking for one in SoCal :D

I second this comment completely. However, this suggestion is equivelant to a $5K stereo but it would make sweet music, ecspecially with the GM V3 set-up.
