I've been trying to drive my new NSX essentially every chance I get, albeit a tad difficult due to my busy work and life schedule but I'm absolutely loving it! Had the pleasure to put almost 500 miles on it this past weekend driving to an event out in LI, NY called, "The Bridge." Happy to have been accepted as it's invite only and was the only Japanese car there. I had my Zanardi there last year, flanked by an incredible 3k mile LBBP 2005 and a few FLA's. https://www.thebridgehamptons.com/
I have to say driving the NSX through NYC and Brooklyn was interesting to say the least. Pot holes the size of Kei cars! I was stuck in rush hour traffic on the GWB, thumbs ups from everyone. Anyways the NSX received a warm welcome and wasn't out of place. People genuinely loved it.
A few observations I've noticed.
My brakes are super squeaky, not sure if anyone else has this problem. I have the standard brakes and they are very loud, borderline obnoxious. I suppose I can have them looked at during my first oil change visit in a few months. Crazy to think, it will be a year in Feb.
The gas tank is super tiny, I find myself filling the tank a lot. Needless to say, I've been driving it super aggressive so it's to be expected.
The trunk is comical at best. My wife and I packed for this weekends voyage and it wasn't easy. While I'm cool with a tiny travel bag, the misses had to really make some tough outfit decisions regarding what to pack.
The seats are amazing, I drove home nearly 5 hours and didn't feel cramped on exhausted. The A/C is great and I love the vent to the right of my knee on the center console.
While the front lip isn't too low, you need to be careful of the rear diffuser. I managed to chip mine leaving a Cars and Coffee event. Essentially just a little clear coat on a fin but it still bothered me.
Overall, I couldn't be happier and look forward to a lifelong ownership experience. I feel bad for the Zanardi as I have only driven it once since the arrival of the Type S, although I have driven the S2000 a good bit.
Next up, installation of the illuminated door sills when I do the first service and I've been toying with the idea of the SOS exhaust if it works with a Type S. I'm in no rush so I'm sure it will in due time. I bought the oem car cover so it will be nice and cozy for winter.
