Kind of a random question but does anyone know where I can get a roll of kevlar? I am looking for the kevlar that looks like carbon fiber..

I have tan interior and do not think carbon fiber looks very good because it is black and gray. I am in search of the kevlar that has a tan/black/brown tint to it.

Can anyone help?

Brian

overlay vs. fabricate...

You can go for the following composite-materials:

- Kelvar fabric...

- Carbon-Kelvar 'hybrid' fabric...

In terms of overlaying or fabricating the parts you want:

- Overlay existing OEM part w/ your desired composite-material...

Contact KANE (Ravi) @ www.umbrellaautodesign.com (reference: "New Carbon Parts From Umbrella...")

- New OEM part fabricated in your choice of composite-material...

Contact nsxpowered (Peter) @ www.downforce.biz for OEM parts made w/ your desired composite-material that would otherwise be constructed w/ carbon-fiber

Various pigments/tints exist that can be added to the resin and clear-coat which would make the newly overlayed/fabricated parts match your tan interior, relatively speaking!

Good-luck!

Kevlar (aramid) is very yellow. I made a set of rocker panels out of kevlar and I was very surprised as to how yellow it actualy was. Might be a bit stark for a tan interior.

Osiris is right. Your best bet would be to have a tinted top coat put on. I'm sure it would involve some trial and error.

I agree though, a carbon/kevlar hybrid like this would look nice toned down with an amber-ish tint. Still going to be very contrasting between the yellow and black.

Good luck, Post some pics of what you come up with.
