hey everybody. i'm leaving for japan on saturday morning (2.5 mos), and i had a couple last min questions about car storage:

i understand i should be inflating the tires extra to avoid flat spots, but should i be inflating a few psi above MAX pressure or a few psi above the nominal?

the faq says to get some dessicant and put it in the car if i'm in an area of high humidity..... which i am. where can i get some dessicant (silica gel?) and how much should i get?

i am not going to change the oil for it to just sit there...... does that matter? or should i really be putting fresh oil in it?

other than that, i think i will be set. i'm going to be doing these little things last min tomorow..... so please let me know if you know.

thanks, i appreciate it.

2 1/2 months really isn't long enough to develop flat spots but inflate them to 50 psi to be safe.

The dessicant you want is called Damp-Rid which you can find at any Home Depot or probably a Wal-Mart Supercenter.

Rubber band garbage bags over your exhaust pipes to keep moisture out of the exhaust.

Get some mothballs too and put them in the trunk, under the front hood and in the interior too. This will keep away the small four legged furry bastards that love to chew on things.

Your oil will be fine. Make sure you fill the gas tank though.

Disconnect the battery.

If you find ANY Iron Maiden Japanese CD releases just buy them for me and I'll reimburse you when you get back. :)

Last but not least, have a safe trip!

Don't you live in Bham? I'll keep it in my garage and keep it driven for you while you're gone.
