LED tail lights: stay slightly on/brake lamp warning

Hey Everyone,

I bought a set of LED tail lights that came with load resistors to solve hyper flashing. The only problem is I get the brake lamp warning on the dash and the LED's are on all the time ever so slightly. Never had this problem before with the oem tail lights/set up just now that I have the led tail lights.

Would a relay modification or a load resistor solve this problem?

I've also read a thread about grounding the white/green and/or orange/white wires found in the tail section.

im having the same problems after replacing the stock bulbs with led bulbs.i read about the grounding trick but it seems like theres no definite answer about the problem being solved

From a company off the web... I think its a trust unit (new/unused, not a conversion). Its great but I just have to fix this issue and I feel like its something simple.

I'm going to troubleshoot it a bit tomorrow. It seems like when you start the car the tail lights are glowing just slightly and I have the brake lamp error on the dash.

I played around with it today by plugging in my conventional bulbs. The low glow when the car is on and brake lamp warning went away. So it is definitely the difference in wattage/current that is tripping the warning lights and probably keeping them on slightly at startup. Would a load equalizer solve both issues for me?

I know how great and experienced so many of you are on this forum. I could use some help with this. Any suggestions?

No idea what the problem may be.. But I do know that for reasons like these, I would only go with ClearCorners.com and no other route for LED tail-lights on my nsx.

wow... helpful post...

You can ground a wire to disable the bulb out warning light. I have not done this myself but several of my customers have done it with success.

As for the LEDs being on when you turn on the car is due to the small amount of current that passes through the tail lamp wiring harness whenever the car is on. I can't offer many suggestions as I don't know how your kit is designed.

Helping someone out that bought their lights from your competitor...

Pretty cool of you.

That is very cool. Thank you Kix I appreciate your help. I've been talking with autolumination.com (very helpful) and have crunched some numbers with them. One 100 watt 6 ohm load equalizer (load resistor) soldered across each tail bulb connection may do the trick. Hopefully it'll be all solved by the weekend.

Thanks to everyone who chimed in...

...an old post; but, what was your final solution?
