Get well soon Hugh. I spoke with him on Tuesday I think and he said he was finally feeling better after being a bit ill following the Dragon trip. I don't know if it was related at all, but best wishes! His presence is definitely missed.

From what I hear, Hugh looked into the cost of emergency surgery at the hospital, and decided he was better off buying a set of "Ginzo knives" on Home Shopping Network for $14.99 and doing it himself.

Unfortunately, our worst fears have been realized. I heard from a little birdy that Hugh underwent emergency surgery for priapism.
I'm sure as long as the surgeon or anesthesiologist were not drinking too heavily before the surgery, he'll be "back in the saddle" so to speak, soon enough.

Now for an update. He's doing well and wants to leave the hospital tomorrow. I don't think he's going to get too far though with all of the hoses going into his body. His spirits are good and he even asked Ted and I to leave the room so we woudn't make him laugh. I offerred to bring him a laptop to post from his bed, but he said he can wait another week. Watch out people, his fingers are going to be typing pretty fast.
