light on dash after fitting harnesses.

After removing the factory seatbelt and fitting Harnesses i now have a SRS light on the dash.

When i fitted my aftermarket steering wheel i got supplied with the kit a jumper pin with instructions to jump two pins in the plug to stop it throwing a light up for removing the factory air bag steering wheel.

Is there similar proccedure when removing factory seatbelts?

What is the trick? i remember speaking to someone some time ago when i was thinking about fitting the harnesses and they said that you have to fit a relay or a jumper on some pins, but what is it exactly i need to do? and is it to both sides? (both left and right seat belts)

Thanks.

What year NSX?

also you may have damaged your clock spring cable in the wheel housing.

its not expensive but when you remove the OEM wheel this always happens. lots of prime members have had this same issue.

now if your after market wheel came with some jumpers for the SRS system, maybe contact the place you purchased it from.

I am not sure. but the SRS light may go out after the car has been started a few times. dont quote me though with the jumper on the wheel

I know that the seatbelts will not throw a SRS light on the dash. so its not your seatbelts

now if the light on the dash is the seatbelt light then there is a wire that just needs to be jumped.
you can cut the wire under the driver seat and splice it together this will make the ECU or SRS system
think you have buckled your seat belt and the light will go off.

if this is your problem then after you take the driver seat out there are 2 plugs, one for the power seat movement and another for the seatbelt warning light, that is the plug you need to jumper. you can use a 2 inch chunk of wire, or a paperclip you just need to make sure that both those wires are touching.

hope this helped

The 93-05 NSX seat belt WILL set the SRS light off. They have seat belt pre-tensioners which are a part of the SRS system (yellow harness).

We need more information on your car OP.

Thanks for your replies. I'm on holiday :D

I fitted the steering wheel months back and has been fine.

The light was on as soon as I turned the key after removing the seat belts

My car is a UK 1997 na1 obd2.

If my model is same as the one mentioned how do i fix it? Is it by a jumper like when fitted an steering wheel?

Thanks

I have taken some pics of my seat belts the actual retractable part the belt retracts into that sits behind the the driver and passenger on the inside pillar. Both have a yellow connector with 3 pins.

I also looked in my manual and my NSX is the model with the pre tension seat belts.

I'm guessing only having a 3 pin connector each side makes it a little more easy as going by the steering wheel mod i have to jump 2 out of 3 pins each side. Not that many combo's.

Can anyone clarify the exact method for jumping these pins and clarify which of the 3 pins i jump?

The pictures are of the female connector on the seat belt unit the other end that i need to use the connector on will be male so easier to work with.
