Going the AP-X turbo route and want any feedback from those of you that have the system. Pos/Neg.
Thanks
Thanks
Well we do have 100 octane but its not everywhere so I ran 91. I thought it would be ok with only 400whp but yea I guess not. Its the risk you take when you go FI.
we still need to go to the track together. SC vs Turbo. Let me know when you want goHere is my feedback over the last 18 months and about 7500 miles.
I did not expect to replace my stock clutch(with 45k on it). It simply cannot handle 315ft lb of torque. If you want to keep the stock clutch, you should plan on boost at 5-6psi. Otherwise, you may as well plan to budget for a clutch. I went with the SOS 6 Puck.
I did the entire install over 3 weekends in my garage. I had no prior mechanical knowledge other than an oil/spark plug change. I am patient and love to research. The most challenging part of the install was swapping out the stock '93 cast manifolds to stock 2000 manifolds which flow great. Along with extensive research, other members as long as Wil helped with questions. My tuner installed the injectors, gauges, F/IC and 02 bung.
Everything fit like a glove. Great welds, nothing needed to be adjusted once it was in.

I went with the standard journal bearing 67mm turbo. It is laggy. From my visual observations, boost is 1psi at 3000 rpm's and full boost (7.5) psi at about 4000-4200. The car is plenty fast. Low to mid 12 sec in the quarter mile.
I've embarrassed more than a few Corvette's, M5's, AMG Mercedes and Mustangs. I do think if I can get a proper launch I can trap a 11.99sec 1/4.
I only had one issue during ownership and that was a bad board on the AEM F/IC. Even though it happened after the 1 year warranty expired, AEM replaced it at no charge. Otherwise, my car starts and idles completely like stock. If you plan on doing a turbo, upgrade your fuel pump. I went with a Walbro 255.
The kit overall is a great bang for the buck. I fell in love with my NSX all over again.

Kelly
you thinking about this aren't you?
91 octane is more than enough for 400whp. Was this kit intercooled?
Everytime i get ready to pull the trigger i end buying something else to put a dent in the FI fund!!
