Looking for help from anyone with the Anytime exhaust

Combined with headers, I think my Anytime exhaust sounds bad. It has this high pitched racer boy type sound. To anyone that has it, can you listen to the link below and tell me if yours sounds the same? I'm wondering if there is something wrong with mine.

I have heard many Anytime systems, both with and without headers. I don't know the header brands but I always thought the sound was better then the stock system. I personally am holding out for the Tubi's :D

Clearly yours does not sound the same as the file in the Media Gallery at Anytime Racing.

You're right. It sounds nothing like the clip they have on their website. I know there were some problems when this exhaust first came out and they replaced the bad ones. I wonder if this is another bad batch?

By the way, I just got mine two weeks ago as part of the latest group buy. I'm sure the one you ordered will be identical.

Perhaps Chris from SOS has some thoughts. For sure if mine sounds that tinny, it goes back in the box and back to SOS!

No, there is something wrong for sure. Mine does not sound like that.

Just from your revving, it sounded simliar, but on your drive off, it is WAY too high pitched. It does not sound right.

Maybe john will jump in here...

Now that sounds more like what I was expecting. Not sure what mine sounds like, it has been in the shop for a week already with a laundry list of about 10-12 upgrades to do. God only knows when I will get it back. But when I do, I hope it sounds more like yours NetViper. Very Ferrari 333SP-esque. ;)

I think the tinny, raspy sound is due to your B&B Headers. I know that I had the B&B Exaust on my 2002 Porsche 911 Twin Turbo and it was raspy and tinny. I didn't get the headers but I think your Anytime racing exhaust is just a bad fit with B&B.

That makes me fell a little better. Maybe mine will sound more like NetViper's.

My Anytime sounds nothing like your clip. My guess, as others have suggested, is the B&B headers. I've heard other B&B equipped cars with different exhausts and they sounded similar to your sound clip (very tinny, high pitched).

It sounds like you have an exhaust leak. Do you know for sure there are no leaks at any of the flanges?

I've always read that headers don't make that much difference in the exhaust sound. I find it hard to believe there could be much difference in sound between the different brands of headers. They're just hollow aluminum tubes, right?

When installing the headers, I reused the round crush gaskets. How do I tell if I have an exhaust leak? I'm also skeptical that this could make such a huge difference in the exhaust sound.

Jack the car up then start it (or start it and put it on a lift), and feel around all the flanges for any air coming out. If you feel any air you've got a leak. You might also be able to tell if you see some black residue built up around the flange area.

When I first put on my GM exhaust I had a leak. It caused the car to sound super high pitched similar to yours. While I was waiting for the gasket sealant to arrive I took it out a couple of times and boy did it scream at certain RPMs. After I sealed the leak it now soulds like it should.

My Anytime was with headers (and bbsc) and it sounded nothing like your clip. Mine sounded just like NetViper's does.

This exhaust is going to be replaced. Ive been on vacation and just found this thread. They sound like NetVipers clip, not the one you supplied. I certainly wouldn't make an exhaust that sounded like that. Please PM with your contact info and we can get this resolved ASAP. I can send you out a new exhaust, throw the old exhaust back in the box, and I can issue a call tag and you'll be able to leave it out for the FedEx guy. Looking forward to hearing from you.
Take care,
John

You have got to admit, with service like this, it is hard to want to purchase anything else. :) I am very impressed with the follow up and willingness to go the extra step. This is the first set up that I am going to buy when my insurance company realizes that they must replace my exhaust.

Exactly why I bought this and not the Taitec lightweight.

I must say that I too am impressed with how quickly this solution brought this thread to a halt. That is great. I know that Chris from SOS got me sold on the Anytime Exhaust due to the nearly unconditional Lifetime Warranty. It is a customer oriented reply like this standing behind that committment that will keep my brand loyalty for Anytime as high as it is now for Coke, SONY and of course, Acura. :)

My thanks for John from Anytime and Chris at SOS. I can't wait to get mine back now. :)

Are you running with catalitic converters or without? It sounds like without.

I haven't done a thing to the cats. They are still there. I've always thought there was nothing to gain from removing the cats.

FYI, John walked the extra mile for my exhaust. I was the first to buy, and we had a few trials and tribulations, but he took care of everything, and then some.

I am also wondering if it is an exhaust leak caused by re-using the exhaust gasket as reported by you here or if the muffler was defective. My B&B headers, with their unsightly poorly finished welds (the headers are stainless steel by the way, not aluminum), and my TAITEC Comp GT muffler do not make that 'blatty' sound which yours are making. They just sound like an F1 car - to quote one of my race driving instructors.

Let us know what fixes it.
