anyone tried fitting Marga Hills side skirts on stock car with OEM not-wide front and rear quarters??
just talked to Seth at SOS and it seems possible but the body shop has to do some modification to the skirts to fit them properly.
i've also heard that Vinny's version is a better fit for the stock NSX.

any experiences? advises? recommendation??

thanks in advance

Jon

"donwon" has the Marga Hills side skirts on his NSX with factory front fenders and factory rear quarters. He is from the MD area to. You might want to PM him for more info.

We are working on testing and making available our mounting kit that was used on the wide body. Unlike other side skirts that require you to drill into the door sills, this uses the factory mounting locations and completely hides all mounting hardware. Should be available in approximately a week.

You will need to build up the top flange or cut off the front piece of the Marga Hills to make them fit factory fenders.

Cantrell Concepts is also making our rocker panels from the wide body system to be compatible with the stock body. The fitment and quality is far superior to the other FRP rocker panels available, and fits/mounts like factory. This also should be available in approximately a week.

Cheers,

Saw these on Chris's car at NSXPO - I can vouch for quality of fit, they looked really good. He also described the mounting process to me which sounds like a first for an after-market product and ensures a good tight fitment.
Did I understand you correctly Chris, that you will also market the fitting brackets seperately, as a potential universal mount for "other vendor" side skirt products?

I have the Vinny MH replicas. Once I figured out how they would mount up, it ended up being a simple, but long process. Four hours for the first side, two hours for the second. Lining up, marking, drilling, then mounting. Nothing difficult, just time consuming.

My BMW friend who was helping me found great joy in drilling holes in an NSX. :)

Hi Ken -- Thanks for the review. Yes, we will be offering them as a universal fitting package. I recently installed a set of Wings West side skirts with this package, and it has to be the best fitting set I've seen yet (double sided tape doesn't quite cut it). It kills me to see side skirts drilled into the frame. The package will be reasonable, selling for under about $80.

Cheers,

Chris,

It may be too late for those of us that have already drilled into their cars, but would getting the kit serve any benefit to those of us that already have skirts installed? My MH replicas are on pretty solid right now, but I'd consider retrofitting if it helps out.

Only if you feel the rockers aren't secure enough for your liking. If you're happy, I'd keep with what you have.

I also would like to know when this kit becomes available. I did not drill but have double sticky taped them on. I really don't like this because it leaves a small gap. Still better than stock IMO. Please let us know when this product becomes available.

Is this kit available yet? If not, when? I can't seem to find it on the sos website.

That is because you haven't seen my skirts yet Chris:D Nah, I'm just messing with you:p Chris explained to me how this mounting kit would work and at first I was confused but then I realized what he was talkling about and even though I haven't seen or used this mounting kit yet, it makes perfect sense. After working with my WW skirts and seeing how the OEM is mounted and how aftermarket lacks mounting options this SOS mounting kit will be a great product IMHO. If my side skirt project didn't work out I would have been among the first in line for this mounting kit:D

As for the WW rear spat mounting I really can't see a viable mounting option that would NOT require you to permanently modify the OEM lower valance since there is no OEM mounting points you can use like for the side skirts. However, if you don't mind permanently mounting the WW spats why don't just just use Urethane adhesive? It will permanently secure it to the OEM TPO plastic valance but many of those types of products are built to blend in and feather edge well so you can litterally mold it to the OEM part for a seemless look with structual strength. The down side is you will never be able to remove the WW part:D
