Thanks to all of those, Marines and otherwise, who've been there for the rest of the world.

We have our own heroes in Canada too. Ive always found this very moving. When our fallen from Afghanistan return, they land in Trenton Ontario (just west of where we held Est Fest this year). They are brought to Toronto by Highway 401, the segment of which between Trenton and Toronto has been renamed the Highway of Heroes to honor one of their final travels.

Ive been on the highway when they've been enroute. It is amazing. The bridges are full of welcomers home. Fire trucks with ladders fully extended are everywhere. Police cars with officers line each on ramp. This goes on for 100 miles.

God bless all of our troops, and their families.

I give props to all sections of the military. Way to go guys! I just wish I felt the same about some of the folks in Washington who give those folks in the military the orders.

My armory was 40 feet from the old HQ of 1st ANGLICO on Camp Pendleton (Las Flores).

Haven't heard of ANGLICO in years!

I was a Midshipman (ROTC) and trying to decide Marine Option, SEAL, or Aviation...so I tried everything I could...got an Airborne slot (Ft. Benning in August) and did some follow-on jumps in West Palm (ANGLICO Reserves).

But ended up in fighter aviation.
