Just wondering if it was my computer or something. I find it hard to believe that in two days nobody has offered up anything new for sale.
Has anybody else noticed this?
My puter shows last new post on 5-21.

Volunteers are hard to find. Pays $0 and expectations are high!

Prime Marketplace = Free

By no means am I complaining. I didn't want it to come off that way. I am not the most puter literate person so I didn't know if I needed to do something different or mine wasn't working correctly.
Please accept apology.

I'd like to volunteer considering I'm on prime probably all day long...

Sorry, guys. My parents and in-laws are in town and have not gotten a chance to be on the prime long enough.

VBNSX: You should definitely send an email to Lud about being a moderator. An extra hand always helps!

Id consider being a moderator as well...

Time to revise Marketplace rules?

I am admittedly not familiar with the problems which led to making marketplace forums posts subject to approval, nor do I know whether the past troublemakers are still registered users here. That said, and with all due respect, since self-policing is seemingly working well in all other areas of Prime, I suggest that it is time to return to non-moderated marketplace forums.

No way. Good moderators are worth their weight in gold and I, for one, would hate to see the Prime Marketplace left to the wolves. If moderation ceases, then the marketplace forum will be flooded with schemes, incomplete (at best) and false (at worst) information.

The moderators have done a great job since the moderated marketplace opened. Perhaps the traffic justifies additional help. But going to unmoderated marketplace - no thanks.

I don't know what is required to be a moderator. I would volunteer but don't know if I'm computer literate enough to justify throwing my name into the hat or not.

Sent an email to Lud concerning if he wants assistance w/ the site. No response.

Just as an fyi.... if it's needed, I wouldn't mind helping out.

my personal view, not that it really matters...maybe it could help free up the moderators or something...?

I don't think there should be a "pre-screening" when posting FS threads in the marketplace...If someone accidently misplaces their ad, the moderator should then move it to the right area...that way, it'll free up the mod's time instead of pre-screening each thread(which takes time)...just put a sticky on top and list the rules/format...if they don't follow it, mods can erase...simple as that

just my $0.02...

This took me at least 1hr a day to do this. Sometimes longer, depending on how often I visited per day. It is much easier to approve ads, then to have to read and re read thru hours of posts (from your last time visited) and then moderate them. Even with the way it is today, you'd be suprized and how many ads don't follow the rules set out by Lud. Sometimes, it's almost as though they don't exist. No vins, no prices, best offer, make offer, tell me what you are looking for, I have alot of stuff, bump after 2 days, etc. The current process in my opinion is easiest from my point of view, but others may disagree because of the waiting sometimes involved. I'm sure KGP will chime in on this one

BTW, You'd think the marketplace would be simple and worry free. The guidelines are simple: Post VIN, price, etc. and the ads get posted.

Yea, you'd think so. Personally, I'd just delete the crap that doesn't conform. If they cried about it, I'd ask them to call Mr. Wolf. Actually, I think the old point system should still be in place, but only be used for the marketplace, where moderators could issue feedback. That would be loads of fun!

I know you would still probably have to have a moderator but allow me to make a couple of small suggestions.
1. When someone wants to create an ad, they have to fill out a form and supply all the pertinent information required. If they don't then it won't allow you to post until it is filled out completely.
2. Have a prompt(pop-up?) appear before and after an ad is created. Of course the prompt would remind you to have the proper info listed or make you manually indicate that you have read rules and have listed everything required.
If the latter of the two methods was chosen, then if the poster didn't follow the preset rules, have some type of penalty in place to put on them.
I know that sounds a little harsh, like a child being put in 'time out' or something but maybe it would help in the long run.
