Hey would everyone agree to a master prime member directory? It could be like a reference-phone book of everyone: All the posted data plus your cars vin#, phone #s, addresses, etc.... There have been times I want to just call someone in regards to a part for sale or stereo question etc.... I know I have posted my phone numbers, addresses and the such. It might also give us a cross reference guide to cars for sale and bogus postings etc...What do yall think? thanks Brent Example:

And how can you guarantee the ppl you're trying to keep the list from don't just sign up as a member and get it themselves? Maybe an invitation only list from members who actually know other members?

I like the "by invite only", an access log and maybe only those with "reputation points" (a feature seemingly discontinued).

I'd actually list my skill set, occupation and stuff so we can help each other out...

All great ideas, keep them coming and I am sure it will work out. Maybe it's time for Lud to throw in a few ideas....Brent

Guys, this is a great idea but a total privacy/security nightmare. It could also be counter-productive in bringing the community tighter. Say one of your cars is stolen from a secured garage, everybody with the list falls under suspicion (and becomes fearful they're next). Invitation-only is too elitest and more suitable to a Ferrari club. ;)

Best way is everyone fill in their location details here on Prime and keep tabs virtually. Then everybody is contactable yet their real identity & exact location is better secured.

Or if you really MUST have a list, why not gather details at a cruise? Best way to judge a person's character is in person. Plus it's a great excuse for a cruise. :D

That's my advice.

So this idea won't work? Brent

I have a real problem trying to figure out if somebody is local to me or not...a lot of folks do not put anything about their location, which is unhelpful at best.

I assume they are trying to maintain privacy or something...but you can be general about it too (ex Los Angeles = anything within 150 miles of Los Angeles).
