McCulloch HID any good? Same as SOS?

They are the same except the SoS predrilled dust caps. See this thread:

The ones Netviper got for $300 were from "cartoka", so it is not the McCulloch HID unit( whic is superior). And if you go to www.cartoka.com , they list them for $370.

I have the Phillips HID kit on mine and have had them for several years now without any problems.They are a one piece unit and mount nicely under the flip headlight housing. The Phillips unit is considered by many as the best unit on the market. I also have another friend who uses the hanabi kit which is a korean made ballast unit .... he paid 300 for each set and has had them also for a few years without any problems to date. If the SoS kit was still available i would say for those who wanted a kit that was nsx specific to get that one but i didnt find the generic kits that much harder to install.

I have the McCulloch HID SOS kit, and my ballast went bad after 14 months.
The warranty was only 12 months, but Chris hooked me up with a new ballast from the garage gourmet for free. Works the same so its good enough.

The wiring on the McCulloch units are better, using completely weather sealed lines in and out of the ballast to the HID bulbs.
I'm not trying to have an argument with you over which is better. If you think otherwise, thats fine with me.

I don't know about McCullough, but the last time I looked (about 1 minute ago) SoS no longer had HID lights for sale. To my knowledge the NHTSA has banned aftermarket HIDs. In that vein, check out the RM Racing Safety Recall Notice.
