For those in same boat as me, in any given thread you can select the 'muti-quote+' icon (it will turn to 'muti-quote -' which if clicked again will deselect it) for a number of individual posts and then when you select 'quote' on the last one, your create message field will have all the quotes already inserted - you can then edit appropriately to insert your own comments between each quote, or just at the end as you choose.
