Need help- my back-up lights won't work

I'm a relatively new owner of my 1991 NSX. I only recently discovered that my back-up lights don't work. All other rear lights work OK (driving, turn signal, brake). Today, I checked the bulb with one back-up light and found the bulb to be OK. Can anyone recommend the next troubleshooting step? Fuse burnt out or?
Help is appreciated. Thanks.

Steve

I believe the reverse light signal comes from a switch activated on the transmission. If you've determined the fuses, bulbs, and wiring to be ok, that would be the next step. Good luck.

First, thanks for your input. The wiring appears to be fine. Do you know which fuse controls these lights? The engine fuse box or front fuse box? Lastly, if the transmission switch you mentioned may be at fault, is that easily accessible to either check-out or replace or not?

Steve, you can download the NSX service manual here for future reference.

Here's the page relevant to your problem.

Outstanding! That's great info. I knew about the service manual, but did not know it included troubleshooting things like this- also good to know. Thanks so much. Hope I can figure this out. Backing-up at night without lights is 'nicht gut'.

Auf wiedersehen fellow Primers.
