Hey ladies and gents

Im looking for a stock dyno.

I had my car dynoed at work about 3 month ago and the power topped out at 250 hp at about 5500 RPM and from there it was a flat line.

Was just looking at it the other day and was thinking that power gains should be pretty much liner with Vtec engines right up maybe till a little bit before the redline.

Does anyone know the link or have a picture for a stock dyno/confirm my hunch.

Would perfer a second opinion before i start operating

warmest regards

There are a lot of dyno sheet on the board here. The torque usually drops above 7k rpm. Usually there are a lot of reasons that could cause your engine to behave bad. But if VTEC engages at 6k you should be able to hear the higher volume.

dont think my vtec is kicking in. Was looking for the oil presure drop before. it never happened. Also was listening 4 the vtec but since NSX was first to have the system and they made it very smooth, i was not sure if the difference would be like night and day when compaired to any other vtec sound.

Anyways, im not very happy with the wiring job done by the guy that put in my JDM engine. Suppose to be a top notch guy, but guess he missed something. I was expecting a lot more than 250 since the car has had some work done and is not stock. I was shooting for 280 with the work i had done and thats the number i had in mind.

never heard of a honda coming up short on the top end.

maybe ill just hard wire the Vtec to a switch and engage it from inside the cabin and see the difference.

Anyways, if you wanted to do something right, guess you have to do it yourself. ill start operating this weekend and see how things goes:tongue:

Mate,

amazingly, u're not alone.. im having the same problem... i rev it up while driving and the rpm goes as high as 5500rpm... and the VTEC never kicks in.. :-(

according to my mech, there is a lose connection between the ECU and VTEC switch.. he needs to re-solder the lose connection wire.. i haven't done it yet since i have no time to send it to the workshop.. hopefully by this weekend..

If that's true then the check engine light must be on.

EDIT: Actually, I may have to take that back as I don't know how similar the JDM cars are to US cars with respect to sensors and capturing errors.
