Got my NSX 92 two weeks ago and after some research have more or less decided on the following:

1) DC Sports Headers - Using the 97 version with springy bolts
2) Custom fabricated Exhaust (similar to GruppeM V3) which I used on my 911 to great effect, but will try with 3rd merge point and megaphones at the end of the exhaust

3) Wheels - probably Work Emotion CR (anyone used these before?)
Front 17X7" Offset +42 or would 17X8" be better? Tires 215 or 225 40s
Rear 18X9.5 Offset +38. Tires 255 or 265 35s
Tires probably Michelin PS2s or Toyos T1 or P-zeros

4) Full carbon air intake system (with apexi filter) from DaliRacing

5) RSX gearknob - current one is pseudo-mugen - tacky imho. Need to remove the shift boot ring somehow as it's ugly - what do you guys to to cover the gear shaft since gear boot does not reach the gear knob

6) Do-Luck Front Bumper - has anyone used these? How's the fit quality? Are they as tarmac hugging as the pic below?

7) Silver Center Console and Internal Door Handles

8) O-bit piggy back engine management

9) Tein RA adjustable coilovers - how are these for occassional track. Car is not daily driver - only for weekend drives. What is estimated % stiffness of springs compared to stock - can't find any spring rates anywhere

9) What else should I do?

Whats the piggy back controller for if theres no FI?

Always better to tune the management system for the car for whatever mods are done to it since factory MAP is an "average" with wide tolerances (not tuned to the envelope) and hence does not extract every ounce of power...temperature, humidity and fuel quality of where I now live is also not fully maxed out

Need the flexibility since after this round I would probably go for cams, light weight flywheel....and maybe bore out for more cubes if possible. But for now just thinking of the more basic stuff.

Would go FI but haven't found a mech that I can trust as I am new in town

My best advice would be to live with the car for several months before doing anything major.

good luck

None of the mods you mentioned (except No. 9) will make a remarkable improvement to the car. I would listen to what hlweyl said.

I know few NA engine mods will do much for performance without going berserk. Yes I agree 110% that suspension (and brakes) and setup have been the best mods for my lap times in my other cars. For the NSX, I also want some comestic mods since I am not assimilated to new local track community yet

The 0-bit engine management is not expensive compared to a chip, but is fully reprogrammable with option to toggle between stock and retuned MAPs. . Drivability and frequent stalling were issues on the 911 with lightened flywheel but got that cured using the 0-bit. Throttle Resposiveness can also be changed quite perceptibly by changing the ramp up MAPs when flooring the throttle suddenly from part throttle. Of course too much and car can become jerky. Would be happy with 5-6% increase in power and increased responsiveness

Anyway, I told myself the next time I bought a new car I would do the mods that I have done on my other cars that I was happy with rather than wait cos I would enjoy the mods earlier....previous cars I waited too long

I can get you the Headers, Wheels, and Tein. Great prices.

Thanks. ..but i'm kinda morally obligated to Dali as Mike has helped answer alot of my queries early on .....unless his price is waaay off

Morally obligated? You may wish to get Henry's (he is in Hong Kong) opinion of the wisdom for this position. I seem to recall a wheel deal that went sour between Henry and Dali. It may have since been resolved, but when I tried to politely "intervene" my nose was slapped.

Having said that, I have purchased two sets of Tecnomagnesio (there is no "h" in the word) wheels from Dali with zero problems.

Hmmm Ok certainly something to think about. Thanks for the heads up. Will order some smaller stuff first i guess.

On the topic of morally obligated - i just feel it's not cool to tap someone's brains and time only to give the business to the lowest bidder...has happened to me in business and it pisses me off. I believe business is a total package not just pricing.....unless it's way off. Just my personal philosophy....but I also have a policy to avoid being ripped off if i can avoid it.

Best of luck, again.

I have a policy not support vendors that have ripped off other NSX members. If a vendor has ripped off a fellow NSX member, then they have ripped me off. That's how I see it.

I agree, do a search, if I recall correctly it usually happens to foreign customers. PM Gerard, I'm still curious if he got Guus' money back on his wheels after his death.

Shit, forgot all about that one......which now that I re-think about it, does revolt me. And for MJ to say that he and Guus were pals doing SPA races together.

I know, I've still got Gerard's pm from last may I think and I don't ever recall him following up on his thread.

that's how you will get suckered in!! i had no problems with my first two or three orders and then i got stung on a set of koni adjustables+the shipping costs.
don't think that because you have had one or two good dealings with him you will be ok.i am speaking from personal experiance.

PZull: Skip steps 1-10, just spend your cash on a Comptech Supercharger. That air intake will give you what, 1 hp?

Maybe you should change your nick to PullEEz
