new gt-r

Honda will have to price their new "NSX" pretty damn cheap to compete with the GT-R.

Personally, I'm looking to get a GT-R to compliment my NSX...the Honda car will probably cost too much and be slower.

no they don't have to, nsx wasn't that much faster than R32, R33, R34...
we all bought this aluminum beauty... As much as I liked the GTR, they are never an exotic car.

I also don't think this will be a nsx replacement. Lets hope that they sell it at honda, so I can get one cheap.

Arnon, stop thinking about getting a GTR!!! That car doesn't fit your style, period. I rather spend that $$ for Aston Martin

Thanks Doc! I do need more approval from you guys out there  Found 2% loan for the car, checking on insurance, making a deposit next week. It is awd, I can drive this thing everyday(rain & snow) except to the NSX meet. Don't know what happened to first video..here is more.]

Are you getting yours from Performance Nissan in Everett? I'm going to wait until next spring to get one...gonna drive my S4 thru this winter.

I don't want to pay much (if anything) over MSRP and I'd like to get a 2nd year car in case there are any issues...since I'll probably drive it for 5+ years.

However, in the meantime the new S4 will come out as well as the RS5 (rumored) and that might change my mind. We'll see.... (not in a rush to get a GT-R, but want one).

found it....Top Gear drives the Nissan GT-R

Doc, Performance in Everett wants $20000 over invoice .... I talked to them many times, bad attitude. For local buy Campbell Nelson 'Dino & Steve'..extra nice, they asked $10,000 over msrp. I will keep you informed.

both are ugly IMHO. the nsx was built off of an f-16 design and cockpit. i still look at my nsx and get the same emotion when i look at ferrari. i look at these cars and think about a glorifed lexus sc. yea, they're faster than snot, but seem to high off the road.

i wish acura would go back to their first post nsx design and keep with the f1 type chassis and go away from these super coupe cookie cutter designs.

Dude, the fact you have to finance a negative asset that will depreciate 20% a year, your better off buying a motorhome, it comes with a bathroom:biggrin:

feel the same way..

Isn't that what the GTR is:confused:

I liked the GTR for what it is, it's all about its stance and the in-your-face-apperance.

it's never mean to be pretty or exotic... If GTR is from cookie cutter, it's one bad ass ugly cutter.

*** still trying to steer Arnon away... oh, just thought of one more reason not to buy GTR, I will steal it when you take it to PR...

Man brother, I can't believe your getting a GT-R! You've got nothing but support from me. But I will never compare it to the current NSX, it's just a TOTALY DIFFERENT BEAST! It cant be compared in performance nor looks. However, I don't think anyone really has a clue of what the replacement NSX will be like. The prototypes have all been simply test cars with tons of speculation. Acura's goal is to beat, not compete, but beat the GT-R in ALL CATAGORIES! It won't be cheap, but it will be well worth the wait and well worth the coin!
The GT-R at it's current price point will be the best buy dollar for performance out their. The price tag is what's going to be tough to beat, not the car. Simply my opinion...but I do get more info than the average cat about what Acura division is diong! And let's not forget, the car we are all driving has been around since 1991 with very minimal changes since then. I guarantee we will not see a nominal improvement with the new release...but we will see a TOTALLY DIFFERENT BEAST!

"Not an exotic" or not...the new GT-R is stupid fast.
I watched the Cobb GT-R run a 1:22 lap time at PIR last weekend and the car was basically stock.

I challenge *any* NSX driver to come out and even break below a 1:30 with just a set of tires and pads!. Its going to be hard as hell to do...and thats only 8 seconds slower than the GT-R.

I hated the look and idea....but...I want one now.
:)

The GTR is an amazing car...but wait and get the "Honda" NSX replacement...lol if you can afford it when it hits. Honda's CEO Mr. Fukui stated that he is pushing his engineers....he doesnt want to release the car until it whoops the GTR on "The Ring".
