I have some new locking hood latches/hood pins.

These are the Top Secret/Aerocatch style.
Comes as shown with all hardware required and 2 keys.
Similar ones seen on Factor X's NSX, JDMnsxR's NSX, and Top Secret's Supra just to mention a few.

If you feel that 3 existing holding points on your hood are not safe enough, then here's the perfect solution to add 2 more for safety. Whether it's for your track car or an after market carbon fiber hood, these hood pins offer cheap insurance and prevent a hood from opening accidently while driving.

Here's an animated illustration how it works.

Yeah, they look kinda large?? Do you cut that into your hood or what?
Can you paint over it?

Comes with (poor) instructions, so I had to visually imagine how the mechanism was designed to work. There's a 5 degree room for error if you screw up. After getting enough nerves to cut into my $500 CF hood with a Dremel tool, it wasn't so bad. Took me a good 3hrs because I have no mechanic skills whatsoever. The Aerocatch latch is quickly becoming the industry standard.

Larry, please contact me about this installation and your opinions about these hood pins. I'd like to know a little more about them.
Thanks

One of the reasons I sold my CF R-type hood, because I didn't feel comfortable with the front integrity of hood striker. During high freeway speed, I caught myself continuing looking at the hood, waiting for it to fly up / off. I thought about different style hood pins, but didn't like that look.

However, I would definitely recommend them if your going after market hood.

I'm pretty much "committed" to the hood (it's bought and being painted) and I do like the look of the hood. But I'm not happy with the fit, so far, of the VIS product. If I need hood pins I'd like to get the least obvious of those available.

I have had a hood open up on me while driving and it's not something I ever want to go through again.
