I put Bilsteins on my car this weekend. It was much easier than I expected after the horror stories I've read. There are a few tricks I learned which I hope to post some other time. I put the rears in first and realized I wanted it lower than the lower perch setting was going to give me, so I pulled them back out and put in some additional grooves (had access to a lathe in which the shocks just barely fit). Bilsteins come with 2 grooves, stock and 20mm lower than stock (FYI: 20mm is .787", which is closer to 3/4" than the 7/8" I have seen quoted in other posts). I put in another set of grooves at 30mm from stock on the rears. I put 3 additional grooves in the front shocks so I could dial in the exact look I was after (2 in the middle of the stock grooves and one below the lowest, basically a groove every 1/4"). I think it turned out nice. This weekend I am off to the alignment shop.
