Hey, guys, what's up?
I am obviously new here, I (2 days ago) bought my dream car, (thank you Network marketing) I bought a 1991 Black on blak NSX, the guy i bought it from says that it was one of the original prototypes before the actual cars went into production?? I am jot sure, he says everything was made by hand. Anyway, i live in Vacaville (East bay) Kind of around Fairfield, sacramento, richmond, Vallejo, Napa, Etc.

The problem is, the car was in a really bad accident and needs a new front end, the accident is real bad, to the point where no one wants to fix it, being aluminum, they are afraid it will crap/rip/break when pulled. So i am in the market for a complete front clip. Can anyone help me out here please?? Thank you, and i look forward to meeting up with you guys here in the near future.

Welcome on board. So you bought the car wrecked or it was wrecked once you owned it? Put some pictures up on the board showing the whole car and the damage. There are some experienced, talented people here who may be able to advise you.

Tommy,

Congratulations acquiring one of the best cars in the world and condolences on its current condition.

There are a number of shops in Northern California that have certified NSX frame repair technicians. You will undoubtedly have a large number of postings showing up in the next day or two with people talking about their favorite body repair shop. When you shop around, be sure to ask what experience and certifications they have regarding frame work on aluminum cars. Many of the owners that have had their NSX's repaired were only having new panels bolted on and painted, not extensive frame work.

If you are willing to travel east, there are two good shops in the Sacramento Area with the experience, Fabrication Specialties and Jake Tomlinson. Let me know if you want more info on either.

And a shameless plug. If you are not already a member of the NSXCA (not the same as NSXPrime or NSX-CA) I would recommend that you consider it. Many shops will give you a discount if you are a member. The discount you receive may pay your membership for life on this one.

Also, regarding the story the seller gave you about your car being a prototype, there were a few pre-production cars imported into the US. They are identifiable by the fact they do not have a VIN tag and therefore can not be registered for the street. Comptech just sold their green one to a guy that is using it for track, Honda has a yellow wide body in storage somewhere and PD Cunningham has one or two that he used for his successful racing campaign. You can check the official status of your VIN at the Acura Owner's Link. Log in and add your car. They will tell you about the basics of your car and your can see what it was originally.

Good luck with your repairs. Give me a call or PM me if you need any help.

About that Acura Owner's Link...... my car is said to be black/black according to my vin entered into the site. My car is really, black/ivory. Anyone else like that?

Thank you very, very much for your help, i think i am having "exotic Autobody" Out here in Vacaville pull the frame, just to see how far he can get it with out breaking. Then we will go from there.

I personally have no exp. w/ the body shop you are reffering to but a quick word of advise listen the the guys who have been on here for a while they know all the best places that do the best work.

Not to sure what kind of vehicle you came from but the NSX is a different breed and an unspecialized body shop may due more harm than good.

Wow, i really appreciate the help alot, i have already spoken with that guy, but what i need is the actual frame and all of the peices along with it.
