I am pleased to announce that the new, facelifted NSXCA website is now online at the following web address:
http://www.nsxca.org/

The national club website has been updated to reflect the continuing evolution and maturity of the NSXCA and its growing membership base. As webmaster for the NSXCA, I am responsible for content updates and maintenance of the site as well as its overall design and functionality. If there are features that you would like to see, please feel free to send me a private email, or post reponses to this message here in the NSX Prime forums.

The updated site also coincides with the first "official" information about NSXPO2002 in Dallas / Fort Worth, Texas on November 6-10, 2002. Registration for this event will open shortly. We are looking forward to seeing everyone at what has shaped up to be the best NSXPO event to date!

The site looks great! Can't go wrong with black.

It says the fees will be inline with last years fees. How much was last years? Also, does that include the hotel or not?

Last year's fees were $290 per adult for the general event and $365 per driver for the track event.

This year, the general event fee will be virtually the same HOWEVER the track fee will be less and will include three days of track time not two.

Hotels are never included in the above fees. We have secured a contract with a brand new Westin that normally goes for $300+ per night for $90 per night.

Texas accent mode - y'all come now, ya hear.

Strange... I (and others) are not experiencing this. The site uses relative links for the 'title bar', and the specific HREF tag for that hyperlink is as follows:

href="./nsxpo/2002/index.html"

This is no different than the other relative links for 'about', 'regions', etc... Can you tell me what URL your browser is attempting to link to when the 'nsxpo' hyperlink is selected?

Does the NSXPO "banner" at the bottom work properly? It uses the same HREF, so your browser should resolve the URL identically to the "top" link.

HELP!!!

I tried to make reservations at the host hotel and they said there were no rooms for sunday night. Anyone with any info!?!?!?!?

That's because the last evening of the event is Saturday, which is when the contract expires.

I will be the registrar for this event. If you have questions, and you would rather hear my charming voice

I tried it on two different computers and the same thing happens. I can get to it from the index page only. Once I am in about/driver/regions etc .. the page does not load becaues it does not go back to the root .. ie its going to about/nsxpo/ .. and not just nsxpo/

Ok, so what would it cost for me to go for all days and my GF to come just to watch for sat and sunday? Would she just have to pay for the meals or what?

Andy outlined last year's event registration fees. Here is some history. I might note that this year's event offers a much higher value proposition, in that the track event / driver's school is three days at two different tracks, versus the traditional two day / one track format.

Event registration fees do not include the host hotel room costs, as people are free to stay where they like (although we STRONGLY encourage people to stay at the Westin Beechwood), as the rate is an unheard-of $90 per night.

Historical information:

2001 - Elkahart Lake, WI / Road America
NSXPO: $275
Track: $350

2000 - Atlanta, GA / Road Atlanta
NSXPO: $265
Track: $380

1999 - Monterey, CA / Laguna Seca
NSXPO: $265
Track: $270

1998 - Columbus, OH / Mid-Ohio Raceway
NSXPO: $225
Track: $325

1997 - Denver, CO / Second Creek Raceway
Can't locate reg fee information

OK... I'm an idiot. This was a change I made today to host the NSXPO website on the nsxca.org server. Thank you for the help... I'll make the change post-haste.

Just a follow up to my telephone conversation with Andy. The event runs through Sunday and the hotel said we have a block through Sunday but there are no rooms left in the block for Sunday night with the hotel being otherwise sold out. I am not sure if the reservations clerk knew what she was talking about but she claims we cannot have rooms for Sunday.

Just to clarify, in case anyone wonders why there appears to be a discrepancy in the dollar amounts mentioned above for last year's event. We permit payment for registration fees by check, credit card, or Paypal. We offer a discount when paying by check, since that costs the club less money. The higher amounts mentioned were the amounts when paying by credit card, the lower ones for payments by check.

The same thing will be true this year, so when you see the form saying it's $X, look closely for the discount when paying by check. You can pay either way, of course, but if you're interested in saving a few bucks, pay by check.

There is clearly an error. The hotel has rooms available on Sunday, albeit at the "discount" rate of $180 per night. We will have the NSXPO2002 team member responsible for the host hotel confirm that the group rate is valid through Sunday night.

This hotel ALWAYS has rooms available, except when an event is going on at Texas Motor Speedway.

We will clear this up quickly, don't worry. We have an NSXPO planning meeting tomorrow and I'll be sure we address this.

There is an amendment that the hotel's contracts department did not make clear to the hotel's reservations desk. Rooms are available on Sunday at the group rate.

There... all cleared up. Once again: Rooms are available THROUGH Sunday night for checkout on Monday morning.

I am wondering if anyone is splitting rooms in the hotel.. Is the rate the same for a double? The roomslook huge.. Anyone doing this? It would help some of us that would like to save a little cash..

Your self-remonstration could not be further from the truth.
It is disappointing that no-one (with the exception of Ilya - thankyou!) offered their appreciation of the wonderful job you have done with the new site layout.
Everyone jumped on the topic of NSXPO (understandable excitement) & the thread did not pick up on the new site theme or the work that has obviously gone into it.
Please join me in giving our appreciation to Eric for a terrific job.
Congratulations & Thankyou!!!!
