New Odyssey PC680 battery...should I put it on 2A charge?

Prior to taking out my car out of storage, I left the Odyssey PC680 battery (it has been sitting in the basement over winter) on 2A charge for about a couple days. The charger indicated that the battery was fully charged.

Put the battery back in the car, tried to start the car, and was having trouble cranking. Had to boost the car. So I've decided to pick up a new Odyssey PC680 over the next couple of days.

If the NSX is not in used, should I put on 2A charge even though the battery is new?

I recently had my car fully done, incl battery, at the dealer. Ive started keeping the new battery on the tender. I just drive it too infrequently and it seems like the best approach is to just get used to using the tender full time (even if the bat is new)

If you drive it at least once a week, I think it is fine to leave it off.

For AGM batteries, you really should be using an AGM-specific charger. They're voltage regulated to about 13.7 volts and have a specific charge profile. The Odyssey charger linked above is a good one, but if you also need a charger in general for other traditional lead-acid batteries, I've had good luck with this one for $100 shipped:

It has modes for wet, gel, and AGM batteries.

See this thread for bringing back and Odyssey AGM battery (at least for another year or two possibly):

Mac attack is right
These batteries need a specif charger or they will die a very early death. I recommend a odyssey optimizer for quick charge and a trickle charge specif for theses batteries 13.7 volts for storage

just to better clarify,

are all of you saying that a regular 6v/12v trickle charger will not work for a Dry Cell battery like the Odyessey PC 680?

also I just looked up the PC680, it only has 220 CCA where the factory batt has 400-- is this ok?

I have a PC 680 on my car but its weak and needs to be changed, should I replace it with something different?

Thansk

Yes - to clarify, an odyssey battery will not charge fully on a regular charger, it needs to see very specific voltage and current or it will not charge fully and it's life expectancy will be greatly reduced.

I learned this the hard way many times.

so thats what happened..... I m using a 6V/12V (switchable) 1.5Amp battery maintainer.

Car has been giving me "Check Engine" light with ECU as the code.
In another thread I was told to replace the batt and reset codes to see what happens.

But now that I read here I see that I have been doing things wrong-- I THINK

I have been setting the charger to 12v thinking it was a 12V battery , and its a 1.5A so I figured that would be ok....

Does anyone know if Autozones battery chargers will be able to test these types of batteries to see if they are good?

should I switch it to 6V or will that not matter? Will it matter now or too late?
