This just in!!!

Honda is sponsoring the newly formed Brawn Grand Prix racing team, ready to invest a rumor of over $400 million USD per year to secured their name as part of the future F1 championship winning team. The estimated budget was calculated based on their previous losing F1 effort.

By Honda Management!

"We are committed to F1 again because racing is part of our DNA and we will like to take this opportunity to thank Ross Brawn and Nick Fry for letting us participate in this sport as part of their organization. We are here to stay and we are here to win."

This unexpected move by Honda to oust Virgin Group as the main title sponsor sent shocks through out the the F1 paddock. The actual term however, is undisclosed.

Renault team boss Flavio Briatore is not happy about the deal.

"I can't believe they (Honda) is going to win the championship this season. I don't like them. They never put our (Renault) F1 cars in their Anime; they only use Honda and Ferrari F1 cars!"

Ferrari boss Di Montezemolo also expressed his dissatisfaction.

"As the head of FOTA, I appreciate any sponsorship entering the sport to ensure the survival of privately owned teams; however, I do not support sponsorship of any teams that will effect our championship winning effort. Therefore, I don't particularly appreciate the magnitude of their deal. We were planning on beating Brawn GP by out spending them this season. I was pertty sure Brawn GP would have run out of the funding by Monaco GP. This is not a good sign, I can't possibly accept losing to Honda even though they are using MB engines. In fact, Honda should have sponsored Ferrari since we once employed their engineers to designing our V10 F1 engines. To ensure Ferrari's future outlook, Honda-Ferrari F1 would have been a win-win collaboration. We like to build reliable and yet the most powerful F1 cars, but also road cars!"

Ross Brawn accepted the deal citing

"I'm very grateful to have a major manufacture to back our ambition. This was a totally unexpected deal because Honda management flew in this morning with a check we couldn't refuse!!! Our partnership includes: Placing of of Red Honda Type R Emblems all over the car and our continue use of Mercedes Engine. I appreciate their financial and moral support. The key here is - Honda motor sports division will not be involved with our day to day operation. Also I preferred to call my team Honda-Brawn GP instead of Virgin Brawn GP. You guys know I'm not a virgin!!!"

Also

"Our deal includes the launch of the next generation NSX at our factory, which is scheduled to appear at our projected F1 Constructor's Championship winning date of French GP - Half way through this season. Once we won the championship half way through the season, we will have the opportunity to jump start the design process of our 2010 car.

I'm excited. I'm going to throw Honda a welcome party at Malaysia this week to commemorate their excellence in production car design as will as their commitment to F1. Our guess will include the executives from Mercedes Benz, Sultan of Brunei, queen of England, and Vance Hu."

Honda CEO Fukai declined to comment on the latest deal.

"I don't want to steal the thunder from our commercial division, I'll let them present the deal tomorrow during their news conference."

LOL!!!

Don't forget at the end of the season, they release the HSC.:tongue::biggrin:

Lol. I'm a sucker I guess. I actually thought Richard Branson had traded his position back to Honda for 3x what he paid for it -- after 2 wins and a week of ownership. That would have been a great move.

Ha! I just clicked on this post thinking it an April Fool's joke. After a few years on Prime you have to be ready for such during this day of the year.
Very entertaining post, never the less.
