I use to get around 23-24 mpg Imperial driving around town in my spirited manner.
After the install of the used 6 lb whipple unit I get the following after 3 full tank fulls and heavy footed action.
21.5 mpg Imperial - 17.9 mpg Usa - 13.13 L/100km
I am really impressed.
I am running the standard low boost set up for 3.0 litre without AEM.

Nice! I wonder if the autoroter any better as far as fuel economy.

Imperial is an interesting read on Wiki.

trev, that's great and I think your freeway MPG will be better.

Are you driving to NSXPO?

Yes, I am driving to nsxexpo!
Remember, we are sleeping on Titanium Dave's floor....
I got 31-33 mpg Imp.on the Westfest trip.
So staying out of boost, I can't see too much difference as I look at my city on boost results.

I got a call from Dave the other day. He's on Vacation (must be bored in Iowa ) so he tells me I HAVE to go to Expo (my cars gutted check the light weight thread) as I'm the official Bar crawl/Strip club Expo chairman.

With this Official title I will have to do some extensive research (anyone want to PM me some places to start?). I know Portland has some of the raunchiest, sleaziest clubs in America.........SO I will be sure to get there locations

Might be sleeping on somebody's floor

You are riding shot gun with me then if you don't have a car.
You can yell out boost or no boost!!!

I have a problem with THIS area of driving on the track.
I have been telling Dave the throttle is a switch. Now he's promising with the turbo 3.5L I won't be able to do that but we will see

Been telling him for years to take that black plastic STOP out from under my throttle so I can turn it up to 11. Look like he finally took my advise:

He claims to be putting Tilton pedals in. As long as they don't have that pesky stop

My car better be running by the Canadian Expo but from what I hear I will have to trailer it by than. I have slipped way down the slope.

I just got a '99 with Whipple, low boost. Got 17 Imperial MPG :( on mixed highway / mountainous roads over 3 tanks this weekend. Way lower than expected. Expected high 20's.

Sounds like i have an issue. Too rich? Power appears fine. Was just seen by Mark Baash for belts/WP before i bought.

Any advice? Also any avail documentation on care and feeding of CTSC?

Thanks, Steve

Send me an email to [email protected] and I will send you what I have in pdf's.
Do you have a fuel pressure gauge in your engine bay or dash?
Do you have a boost gauge or a/f in your dash?
Are you running an AEM or standard setup with the Rising Rate Fuel Pressure Regulator?
Actually, just call Mark and talk to him about it first before going any further.
No use guessing when you can talk to the man himself.
Then after that, we can play the guessing game.

p.s. You do have the bigger engine and different pulley and maybe more boost and more foot into it boost shoe thing!
The thing is though, if your not into boost, you should really not be using that much more gas than stock.

Re: (Poor CTSC Mileage, formerly Nice City Mpg after 6 lb whipple install.

I just got an OBD2 reader attached to car. CEL is not on but it has one pending code: P0153 - Front Primary HO2S Slow Response (Bank 2 Sensor 1).

Could this be the root cause for poor mileage?

Thanks, Steve

i am getting around 20mpg 25% city and 75% fwy with some WOT pulls i guess that's why i have a VX civic hb that gets 50+mpg. lol

sdavies88, I don't know anything about that kind of stuff.
Maybe post a new thread under DYI.
