They are out in Japan right now and being sold.... it's quite possible it's one of the test cars that are still here. Also, a big nissan office is in TN, so I wouldn't be suprised. It's also quite possible (but highly unlikely) it was a private party who imported it from Japan. Jan 1st marks the official release of sales info to the public. Nissan is expecting the 1500 GTR's to be presold. Release will be in June 2008.
Positive it was a new GTR. Probably likely that the NA headquarters in Nashville might have something to do with it.

Deals Gap aka the dragon is just sw of Knoxville on hwy 129. I just ran it with the rental car 2 weeks ago! I saw one car the entire trip. The rental car rotors, pads, and tires will never be the same!

Actually Deal's Gap is southeast of K town, but yes, very challenging. Even moreso when you're dodging crotch rockets.
It may have been headed towards there, but I would doubt it personally. It would be too risky unless some Nissan exec in Nashville got a wild hair and became ambitious ( read "stupid"). :tongue:
