Noticed a lot of play when stepping on clutch pedal

You should have about 1-1.5 inches of free play in the initial travel of the clutch pedal until you feel hydraulic pressure.

Check under your floor mat on the driver's side for wetness. It is likely you have a clutch master cylinder leak and some air has gotten in there. If it is dry, check the slave cylinder and lines back there for leaks. If either one is bad, replace both at the same time to save yourself some grief later on down the road.

dito. Changed mine on my 03 last year. Did the master and the slave (highly suggest doing both).

Check the fluid level and keep pumping the Clutha pedal. The pressure will increase enough to drive the car. Top off fluid if need be but don't drive far and don't use this as a "temporary fix". You will f'up your tranny if you loose pressure but if you pump the pedal enough you should be able to safely get a 20min - 30min drive out of it and avoid towing costs getting to the shop. I suggest having the shop or you ordering the parts first. Do the above mentioned once the parts are in and drive to the shop to get the work done. Hope this helps and good luck.
