Hey everyone,
Normally I don't post silly stuff like this, but I have had enough of trying to solve these things on my own. First, I have searched the forums and read the FAQ, but my glovebox has a terrible rattle and it's caused by the latch not snugging up to the hook. I've tried retightening anything to no avail. Does anyone know this fix? There's too much play in the latch when locked. I also have the infamous rattle from over the left shoulder but I don't have an aftermarket exhaust.... Anyone?
Second, this is kind of a wild noise.. occasionally on start up (maybe 1 out of 50-75 starts) a very loud knocking will be heard from under the car, sounds like it's coming from the steering rack. The first time I heard it, I thought I had a bad rod knock-- same noise. After driving it 50 or so feet it'll always go away. Not terribly worried about this one, but I've checked the fan for interference and don't see the problem.
Despite these problems, the car runs like an animal! In Tucson (elevation 3000 95 degrees 25% humditiy) I got the car to click off a [email protected] stock. Most cars were running 4-5 MPH slow that night. This is faster than my 97 Supra with an exhaust and raised boost!! Everyone at the track was quite impressed-- even beat a modified C5. I have little doubt at a lower elevation, probably with slicks, I can get the car to run a 12 stock. Now to build the engine and make the turbo kit.
Thanks for any help!
