West coast!
So I was talking to my buddy the other night about the NSX and how it's got one of the sleekest body styles that have come across in the modern sports car era. He didn't believe me so he brought his F-car over to my place and we measured roof height, front lip clearance, fender height, etc.... (didn't have my camera with me that day) He was shocked his F-car looked like a 4x4 with the 2" fender gap on the front wheels!

Make a long story short, I want to see NSX's parked next to any other sports cars or specifically a Audi v10 R8 (only because that is one car I have serious interest in)

However all cars are game, if you have a picture of your NSX parked next to any other sports cars (GTR, Ferrari, Lambo, etc) please post it here!

Should be a fun compilation. I remember seeing a 458 vs. NSX recently....*EDIT: It was from Turbo2GO

here's some of mine I took showing how fat my m3 looked compared to the nimble NSX:

Man... I had one for you but can't find it... Here's four of them next to one... but it's a little far away... I had one with mine next to my buddy's R8 but can't find it... I know this one is crappy...

EDIT: Here's link to different high-res shot... still not the best pic for comparison.

Here's a picture of me parked next to a viper just outside my work. The owner commented that perhaps I traded paint with him. Not quite next to him, but three different angles might be worthwhile to look at:

A few miscellaneous other cars. I had to cut two other Aston Martin DB9s out from the left side of picture because they couldn't quite fit in there. Kinda crappy far shot though:

Wasn't next to it (about 3 cars off that day but)...

I had one right next to a black DB9 but have since lost that on my camera phone, perhaps I'll retake that another day and post it up.

Awesome, when did you pick up an R8? wow very nice! Of course I'm still in the bay! Just visiting on the east coast right now til Jan/2011

BerzerkFury02: Your NSX looks like the exact opposite color combo compared to the viper!

heyskippy: thanks, I remember that picture from a while ago, pretty cool comparo shot

Jetpilot3: I like that Ferrari picture with your Imola - the 2 cars really do share a lot of similiar lines. I heard somewhere that when Acura first designed the NSX, it was meant to compete against the 355. Was the black r8/nsx from a magazine article? Looks familiar....?

I think the NSX has one of the sexiest side profile shots but where it suffers is in full frontal pictures as it is clearly not as wide....

Does anyone have full frontal pictures of the NSX parked closely next to other marque cars?

Well even though the S2000 looks wider by itself, the NSX is actually a noticably wider vehicle. Its almost 3 inches wider than the S2000. The NSX is as wide as a MK IV supra, and a 350Z and wider than the E46 M3, and is as wide as a E92 M3 as well.

WOW Rick, your Yellow S2000 is awesome!!! Love the yellow color on the S2000, imo thats the best color for that car!!

With Energy1's Gallardo....makes the nsx look thin huh...

Awesome, so a lowered NSX is lower than the Gallardo also?

It seems there is not many cars if in reality any that is smaller, sleeker or thinner than the NSX all at once...

Here are some old pics with my MR2s:

It looks like it! haha. Perhaps I can take the white stripes and he can have the blue ones and we'll call it an even trade ;)

It appears so. It's as if some cars beat us in one category but not all at once. Perhaps we should widebody to compensate. I personally like the FXMD one like Coz has. I think it's the best looking one for pre-02 models.

Remember that commercial back in the day saying "Wider is better"?

Amazing pictures - this is exactly what I was looking for! A full frontal picture, a nose to nose and a side by side picture!

The Gallardo "looks" just super wide and tough while the NSX needs some aggressiveness in terms of width.

So it seems the s2000 looks wider but is actually 3" narrower? I wonder if that is true of other vehicles too? I guess we need some wide-body nsx owners to step up and post some profile shots with other cars.

I think sometimes it has something to do with the angle and lense people use....here's two examples where the NSX looks really wide:

I took this picture but not my car:

i think its the way our cars are proportioned and how our cars always gets compared to exotics which are really really wide cars.

Even a RX7 looks wider than ours, and that car is tiny!!! Our cars are really flat sided and the shoulds are not broad from the front so it looks narrower than it really is. There are no fender flares on our cars at all. Here are some real world numbers in width for cars that may look much "wider" than a nsx but is not.

NSX width = 71.3 inches

S2000 width = 68.9 inches

RX 7 FD width = 68.9 inches

EVO 7-9 width = 69.7 inches

STi width = 68.5 inches

E46 M3 width = 70.1 inches

E92 M2 width = 71.2 inches

Supra TT width = 71.3 inches ( everyone calls this car fat looking )

so as you can see, our cars are pretty wide compared to our peers. its only when you start going into lambos and ferraris that we start to get dwarfed but those cars are as wide as trucks

lambo murcielago lp640 width 81 inches

lambo gallardo width 74.8 inches

for reference sakes

First Gen chevy envoy width 71.4 inches ( as wide as our NSX )

2nd gen MR2 turbo width 66.9 inches ( wow much narrower than i thought, we have over 5 inches on this car )

thank you for those figures, that really helps!

So what is a NSX wide-body just out of curiosity? I'm going to look up the Audi R8 (v8 and v10 models should be different)....

A R8 is 75.0 inches wide. Almost the same as a Gallardo ( they are based on the same platform after all). I cannot seem to find a good number on how wide the wide body kits for NSX's are since there are so many options.

Looking at the Taitec ones it appears to add about 2 inches to the each so which would make us as wide as a R8. Whats really interesting in that the F355 is also 75 inches wide but the car does not have the same width in the front as the rear. The back is actually much wider than the front which is why when you snap a photo of the F355 and the NSX it looks similar width

Check out the top down view of the F355

1995-ferrari-f355-3_460x0w.jpg

You see how its wider at where the back wheels starts? It would be nice if the nsx could do this too, but too bad our freaking front wheels are too narrow to run a even crazier stagger.

Another interesting tidbit is that the Mclaren F1 is almost identical in size to the nsx ( the nsx is actually a few inches longer ). I guess when Gordon Murray wanted to make a everyday usable super car he thought the NSX was the ideal size.
