Hey All -

I am new to the board and a recovering Porscheholic. I am looking at an NSX as a great daily driver with greater longevity than most Porsches. Besides, it is just bitchin'.

Park Place Auto and I have gone around a few times on the green NSX in their lot. It might be time for a pre-purchase inspection w/ compression test.

Any recommendations on shops?

Thanks.

I have been driving by that one for 3-4 months. I would suggest posting the vin# in general discussions and see if anyone has input. These primers are a great source of car knowledge, good and bad.
Definately go to Zahntech for the check, he is the local nsx expert and car club member.

Thanks - I took that car off of my list. Reasons:

- Clutch is about to go - no meaningful concession from Park Place on price.

- I was able to track down the previous owners through a variety of avenues. Interestingly enough, one of the previous owners, who had no connection with the car for years, bought a vehicle from Park Place and had a bad experience, which raises a flag with me.

- At some point, in a lapse of the car's history, someone raked up over 8,000 miles on that vehicle.

- All past owners were solid and babied the car, giving it its due, and yet to be due, maintenance. The unexplained 8,00 miles and dealer's response to the clutch threw a big, heaping bucket of ice water on this deal.

- The car has been on the lot since at least June '07.

All that being said, I am still in the market, no big hurry, '97 or better. Price is not a huge consideration, value is.

I've seen that one too. Personally that green is at the bottom of my list of preferred colors. I'm surprised they wouldn't budge on price with it having sat there for so long.
