tranny is acting up. has anyone had one replaced? and if so how much also looking to find out where to pick up a low mileage tranny for a decent price.
regards.

i see. so you suggest keeping the existing tranny and shipping it out? i was looking to have little to no downtime. that's why the route i originally thought up was very favorable.

Do you really want to keep the auto? this may be a good time to throw a 6 speed in there. It will at least add some value to the car. Its very hard to sell a used auto NSX. So you may recover a lot of the money you spend now when you sell. Not to mention the car will run better.

i have done some preliminary searches. it seems the conversion is quite extensive involving possible engine upgrades/updates as well.
does anyone have a total cost of this conversion. a ball park figure should work well here too.

Why do you need to upgrade the engine? You can find a used 5 or 6 speed cheap I am sure.

Different cams, ecu, pulleys, not to mention none of the pedal/clutch stuff in place. Yah.... pricey!

I don't think anyone keeps rebuilt NSX cores in stock b/c of the exclusivity, so plan on some downtime.

Also, the whole "auto's don't sell" argument is kinda null, given they are really rare, and there ARE buyers looking for them. The one I bought had three buyers lined up if I backed out. Just look in the top forum to see people lookin now!

OK then if its that much work, best to have it rebuilt by level 10 or art carr and get more performance and strength that to have it rebuilt to factory specs. But I warn you these trans mods will make the car shift very fast and very hard. The Art Carr mod I did on my Supra would knock my fillings loose when it shifted... it chirped the tires on every shift, even when going slow... but I asked that it deal with 600 HP.
